The first part they are most likely flying over Pensacola Florida. However, the rest of the video is of them flying over the Seattle area during Seafair Week. You got Lake Washington, Lake Union and Elliot Bay (Puget Sound) as the bodies of water in that part of the video. I've been to many Seafairs while I lived in Seattle and seeing them fly overhead while you are out on a boat on Lake Washington, is a pretty spectacular sight!

My uncle did his residency in Pensacola, and I've seen them over Pensacola Beach as a kid multiple times. It's insane how low and close they fly in formation, man. A low sneak pass was the coolest of them all. The margin of error is so small that it makes you realize just how talented they really are when you see it and feel the force of them flying by.

That Pensacola Florida, the Blue Angels are stationed in Forrest Sherman Field, Naval Air Station Pensacola, FL. And they are constantly practicing over the Pensacola beaches, a lot of people go to Pensacola just to watch them practice. The ex and I would drive the 40min almost every weekend to go there. it's amazing, beautiful beaches and watching/listening the Blue Angels.

I got fired from a job in downtown KC one afternoon. There is an elevated on-ramp for the highway and while on it, I turned to my right and parallel to me was a Blue Angel. What a surprise. I forgot everything else. They were practicing for an air show the next day. When I got home I already had a job offer from a company that directly supports veterans. It was a great job.

We live at Pensacola Beach and have the privilege of seeing the "Blues" very often in airshows here or when they are practicing.. When they return from an airshow usually on a Sunday evening they will make a pass down the beach in formation at low level just to say hello...we are back home. The Blues serve many functions, they promote and instill pride in our Military and in foster Patriotism. They also then encourage enlistment and growth in the Navy and in particular in Naval Aviation Pensacola is the Cradle of Naval Aviation and we take great pride in the Blue Angels and in all of our Naval Aviators.

AT 8:09 the planes are flying over the I-90 floating bridges on Lake Washington in Seattle. The route is over what would be the Hydroplane race course run each first Sunday in August as the culmination of a two week festival called SeaFair. I use to live right above the north turn of the race course and could watch the races from my bedroom. At 8:25 as the planes are pulling up you can see the outline of Mercer Island on the right and south Seattle and Seward Park as the green mass directly below the plane and between the center and left smoke trails. This seems to be a collection of training flights from all over.

I'm a 30-year veteran of the United States Air Force. I was not an aviator, but was afforded the opportunity to experience flight in a wide variety of aircraft, but not high performance, i.e., after-burning or supersonic aircraft. My son graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, and graduated from Ranger School and Airborne (paratrooper) training. I have the highest respect for our servicemembers who compose our special forces (Navy SEALS, Marine Recon, Army Delta Force and Rangers, Air Force Combat Controllers and Pararescue) as there's no more demanding training or duty requirements than these elite individuals. That being said, and heartfully meant, there are no people I have more respect for than those who fly high-performance aircraft. These great Americans strap on thousands of pounds of steel and fuel designed to kill them on a daily basis, and even in my very limited experience with the pressures of high-G flight, I cannot comprehend how these great people are able to actually FLY their aircraft, but successfully perform their missions. The aerial performance teams, the United States Air Force Thunderbirds and the United States Navy's Blue Angels are the epitome of airmanship. Based on my experience, it's almost impossible for most of us normal humans to comprehend what these aviators experience--check that, I'm certain it's impossible for those who are not engaged in this activity to comprehend what they go through. I've never been a fan of superhero movies, and the reason why is because I've been blessed to know people who do superhuman things on a daily basis, i.e. the magnificent aviators who operate the most demanding aircraft in the world. They are amazing and have my ultimate respect.

Another person correctly identified the first part of the film was over Pensacola and the bulk of it is over Seattle. SeaFair was last weekend here in Seattle. I picked up my granddaughter Friday and we were headed back to my house when the Blue Angels were practicing for the air show Saturday. We were on the I-90 floating bridge crossing Lake Washington and they flew right over our heads. They were at a fairly low altitude so it was exciting for my granddaughter because she could see them through the sunroof in my car. There were a lot of boats in Lake Washington near the bridge to watch and the pedestrian walkway along the side of the bridge was packed.

When I was in HS, so many decades ago, I was a cadet in my school's Navy JROTC unit. One of the perks of being a part of our Honor Guard and Armed Drill Unit, we got to perform at many military events, and provide misc. duties. all four years of my involvement, we were part of the annual Military Aviaqtion Show held at Nellis AFB, and we were allowed to provide guard/escort details for the Blue Angels. The biggest thrill for me was being assigned to Fat Albert - first as a member of the guard detail for that glorious C-130, and later as the OIC for the detail - as the aircrew for the Angels' Support Team are all Marines, not Navy, and have the sharpest appearance and attention to detail. That detail my junior year resulted in my first challenge coin, given to me by the crew's chief, Master Gunny Hardesty.

Was stationed at the Medical Clinic on Naval Air Station Pensacola in the early 80's, and had frequent contact with many of the enlisted personnal and some Officers. During an airshow in my hometown of Niagara Falls, they lost one of their pilots, LCDR Gershon in a crash, and the mood around the base was somewhat somber. Later that year they held a Change Of Command Ceremony at the Aviation Museum on Base and I was one of the Corpsmen on Medical Standby. Also in attendance were the Air Force Thunderbirds and the Army's Golden Knights Parachute Team and Canada's Snowbirds Flight Demonstration Team ( can't remember if the Royal Air Force "Red Arrows" were there or not) During the Ceremony they held a moving Memorial for LCDR Gershon. Event is something that I will always remember.

I grew up near Willow Run Airport in Michigan, where they built most of the aircraft used during WW2 in Europe. Every year they have an air show & the Blue Angels are always the highlight. What this video doesn't show is how loud they are. The most impressive part is that they're so fast, so loud, so close, and so synchronous. I love the Navy's Blue Angels as well as the Air Force's Thunderbirds! The sound as they fly over can cause a "rumble" in the stomach. Such an exciting thrill. I have seen both of these flying teams, and I must applaud the talent the pilots have to move so fast and so close. Just this year, my youngest daughter and I went to see the Blue Angels for an air show. We had sunny, hot weather, but about 10 min before it was time for the Blue Angels to perform, dark clouds started forming and everyone had to take shelter in one of the hangers as there was a tornado watch. Eventually, we were able to leave, but, sadly, for safety, the Blue Angels did not perform. It's been several years since I've seen either team, so I was a little disappointed, but I also understood why they had to cancel.

3:36 Why is a close formation like that useful? If an enemy DOES get you on radar, they're only likely to get one return, meaning they're only "seeing" one enemy aircraft on their instruments. Imagine their pilots' surprise when there's not ONE aircraft, but FOUR, or perhaps SIX. Whoopsie.

It's one thing to see them but the sound of just one of them is amazing but all of them and the ground vibrates and the thounderous sounds they make streaking through the air is something to hear. Even here they flew at high altitiudes to diminish the sound but it reverberated. The dogs in the neighborhood feel silent and the cats simple scattered. Those green straps you are going over their thighs are tied into the ejection seat, there also ones around your ankles so if you have to eject the cables attached to those straps pull your legs into the seat so your legs don’t get ripped off! Those took the longest for me and the crew chief to get done before flying…the in cockpit video they provided of the flight is really good! I've seen them perform three times at various air shows across Michigan and I've seen the Air Force Thunderbirds perform once also. It's truly spectacular. Just the sound of these things flying a couple 100ft above you is insane, the way the ground rumbles. And you would be amazed how large these planes are in real life. I've also met the pilots on one occasion. They are truly impressive people

Some of this is from Seattle seafair. It's always a great weekend of races and air shows. You should react to the hydroplane races

Units like the Blue Angels are used as a public relations and recruiting tool for the US Navy. All US military branches have various high profile units for the same purpose.

Nope they do not!! I’ve flown with them and they don’t! If they did you would see the huge air bladder over the legs and around their ribs….you have to learn the “hook” breathing technique to help combat the short periods of G-s

The trailing pilots are actually hyper-aware of any awkward movement and I've seen them break out of formation (albeit super stylishly) so even if something goes slightly wrong, they are highly trained in what to do. Nothing beats seeing them in person, though.

I saw them many times at Fleet Week in San Francisco as well as got to go see the interior of "Fat Albert," one of their cargo planes with insane boosters on the engines (I don't know the technical term, but they looked like boosters to me). They have some great videos of how they practice on the ground with auto creepers. I live near the Thunderbirds now, but my heart will always favor the Blue Angels.

The blue angels are a military air group that only performs at air shows. Their main base is Pensacola, FL. Also the pilots who are qualified for this cool job are the best of the top pilots from Navy and sometimes Marines.

They come to my city every few years and I tell my friends the same thing everytime, These guys lways seem to be one upping their previous appearance I saw them at and its like at what point can you quit one upping your routine haha. Its mental how close they are at those speeds in such fragile vehicles.

the blues do this nearly all year (they pilots rotate out every few years) but its for airshows they do a 10 ish minute set at each one and they are doing like 400-600 mph during a lot of these. and what sets the blue angels and thunderbirds apart is they do it in combat jets (the jets can be refitted for combat in 40-72 hrs if need be) and no other airshow demo team does it with combat aircraft. also the blues don't use g suits as it would affect their ability to control the jets as precise as they do during shows they just have very tight blue khaki suits. also also they do some maneuvers less than 100 ft above the ground or less

Check out Aero Legends in the UK. You can pay to go up in a fighter jet. It’s kinda pricey though! Going to an air show and seeing the Blue Angels is Amazing!! Sometimes it is scary to watch. The Blue Angels do take two people up each show. One is from a pool of Civilian personnel and the other is for someone from the media.

If they are just practicing, they are most likely flying around the Pensicola, Florida area. When I was stationed there, they flew by many, many times.

The aircraft used by the Blue Angels are not specially built - they are normal fighters that have a special paint job and certain equipment removed. The attachment points under the wings where missiles, bombs, or fuel tanks would usually be are removed fir streamlining, and the tailhook needed for carrier landings is removed to reduce weight. The planes still have the onboard cannon mounted, though it is if course never loaded or plugged up - removal changed the weight balsnce too much and affected handling. There are 7 Angels - number 7 is a two seater and is used to take local celebrities up for PR flights. The ground crew and supplies travel with the fighters, using a C-17 cargo plane called Fat Albert. Which mesbs unlike the officers flying the fighters and stuck in their planes, the enlisted can walk around, read, even nap at will. On occasion, Fat Albert has a number of spall, special-purpose rockets (RATO packs) attachec to show how even the big, lumbering cargo plane can get up on it real quick if the situation demands it. Oh, and when in formation, like the 4 ship diamond, the only aviator (US Navy does not have "pilots") who actually is looking firward is Angel Lead in the #1 ship. 2, 3, and 4 are each only looking at the leader and concentrating solely on holding the right relative position. The Angels are *extremely* dangerous duty. 1 in 10 is killed while on the team. So far 26 officers (all aviators are officers) and 1 enlisted crewman have died in service.
