Hi Phil. Interesting and interactive. It is a pleasure to see this method of working with bees.

Hey Phil, I hope you are well. I really enjoy you videos. Haven’t seen you post in a while. Hope it’s not the result of some calamity. Grace to you

That is interesting about the hot dry weather. The comparison is obvious (if superficial) that when humans experience hot dry weather in dense cities…violent crime goes up dramatically. Bee violence increased comparatively…

Interesting video! That wasp nest looked like primary nest of Asian wasps.

Very prolific comb indeed! Interesting to see the paper wasp nest as ours here in Texas do not create the exterior lantern. Phil is your email on biobees going to go up again? I was curious about your Nicot and Morris(?) board experiments.

Hi Phil. I'm interested in knowing how long that hive is please. I'm considering building a 24 bar +2 divider board wide ktbh for fairly placid bees. I'm in South Australia, bee keeping in the suburbs of Adelaide, and plan to use a Kangaroo Island queen. Brood from these queens have a reputation for being very calm, and I suspect they won't over run a hive of that size.

Phil. Do you have a link for building a proper top bar hive. (And such a beautiful nuke which is excellent for follow up in a top bar hive)

Mr Phil, you may already know that I am a fan and defender of you and your methods. That said, I am wondering, don't you know that you could have moved that little nuc as near or far as you pleased by simply screening them in the night before and then moving them the next morning, placing some leafy branches in front of the entrance? They will reorient upon emergence with little, and often times, no drift whatsoever. If you knew this will you please explain why you didn't want to use that method? Thank you sir.

Phil, you dont seem to be using the periscope entrance, is there a reason why?

Hi Phil I’ve already ordered wood from my local timber yard to build a replica of your hives. Do you have any tips on how to attract bees. The reason behind the interest in bees is my son and I spotted a swarm in our garden and found them fascinating but as you know they don’t hang around for long. Any advice would be fantastic. Much appreciated Matt

The best swarm attractant is honeycomb and propolis. Lemongrass oil is also good, just a couple of drops.

Swarm commander works. It's $30 US for a bottle. One spray is plenty. Re-apply weekly. I have bees and put swarm traps in trees around the yard. I rarely lose one because of swarm commander. It really does work but careful. Keep it in a tightly sealed Tupper ware or you'll have a swarm in the car with you.

Hi Phil. I wanted to ask you why you are using a water spray on the bees as opposed to smoke ? Is it a personal preference or is there some science behind it? Thanks for all your videos. I find them very interesting and good for picking up tips. Best Regards. Chris

I've got to give top bars another chance. Just weary of losing the colonies I put in them as every one I have placed in eventually leaves.

I've done many cutouts and where I find bees in a basement ceiling or roof ceiling they build like they're in a top bar. In walls they build up up up. If I were using top bar method first I'd build a McMansion or buy an abandoned one with T111 siding. A house like that attracts bees.
