Week 2 of the salmon run, This year is gonna be really crazy from the first impressions

You have to teach your guys how to net the fish. You dont hold the fish out of the water. Either keep it in the water or point the pole to the sky...rule of thumb. Nice job forcing up stream, they will always come back, even though you could have tightened that drag way more!

Those fish are edible or not? i realize they are on the way to spawn and die.

Were you doing what they call flossing or snagging in the mouth?

I don't snag at all cause for one i'm not looking to get a massive ticket or break a rod/reel and flossing is not as easy as it sounds, I kept my rod high off the water and watched my line drift and if i feel it jump, i just set the hook, Normally it's not an affective move but for how fresh the fish were, they still had some attitude to bite.

@@fet2154 - The first fish that broke your rod was foul-hooked and so was the second fish in the video. ALL fish in the Salmon river are flossed / snagged unless you are using bait or lures down low.

@@markweber4854 I put the fish back cause I knew and people we around me and saw that I was fouled. Not all fish are caught legit but I’m just there for the fight.

@@fet2154 - Everybody is there for the fight... that's the point! If a thousand guys foul-hook 10 fish a day... that's a potential for thousands of dead fish in that warm water! Fishing is a SPORT... that's why we have rules. It's much more rewarding to catch fish legit too!

Heading up in a few weeks. Have yet to land one. Is it best to let it run for a while to tire the fish out the reel?

Depends on how fresh they are and how many people are around you, I had a few people so I used the rapids to tire the fish out.
