There is obviously a problem of defense and refereeing in the regular season for the simple reason that in the Playoffs, NEVER IN A LIFETIME can so many players score like that. There are two leagues in the NBA. The regular season where the players, coaches and referees have decided to chill because it lasts 82 games and nobody wants to get hurt and the Playoffs where everyone plays to win. For me, the regular season in its current format has no real sport interest, the only interest is the financial profit that the NBA and the cities that manage the stadiums get from it.

Lol Donovan Mitchell had 2 50pts game vs Denver in 2020, only player to do that in a single playoff serie and Murray also had a 50pieces in that serie (with no freethrow), Saddiq Bey also had a 51 pts game, Lebron had many ver efficient 40pts game, all close to a triple double, Doncic averaged 35ppg vs the Clippers and im sure that’s not the only big performance that we had in 2020 playoffs. Also don’t forget that not only players give 100% every game in the playoffs, but its also against the best defenses in the league so of course you won’t see a lot of 60 or 70pts games.

@elijahchavez7460 So it's the refs fault that Williams didn't box out the shooter on what should have been the last possession of the game for the Cavs? The Bulls were up by 20, decided not to double Mitchell, and then didn't perform a box out technique that is mandatory at the high school level. There's no O.T. if the Bulls are better coached and one of their players actually takes it personal that Mitchell single handedly demoralized them. You trying to shoot them some bail is why mediocre teams continue to play mediocre basketball. KNOCK IT OFF

Exactly ,I know bulls have been the not so good team this season, but last few 10 games or so, bulls have been playing a bit good basketball,having some runs and all. Then all of a sudden Cavs VS BULLS the refs screw it up, then after the game the NBA Announced that demar was fouled on the last shot attempt that would have gave the bulls the win. Then ok move on. Then this game, I know bulls played soft defense at 2nd half but crazy to think there were 2 clutch missed call by the refs, after the game the NBA once again announced that Jarrett Allen should have been called for a travel around 12 seconds left and mitchell should have been called a lane violation,that means bulls should have won that game back to back against the cavs, and that also means mitchell didnt have a 71 points. This is the weirdest 71 point game in NBA history, 71 point history that many will remember as bulls vs refs. This have been happening again and again this season for the bulls, even the bulls vs wizards game, after the game the NBA announced that demars last shot should have been a foul so that also means demar should have maked a free throws to win that game as well.

it’s not just the bulls it’s all over the league and there’s no consistency to it either Nba is a lot closer to wwe than people realize Athletes are real no doubt but the games outcomes narratives are all manipulated by humans and not genuine organized athletics. It’s more important for the game(product) to be entertaining/fun for viewer(consumer) so it draws them in and nba gets paid$$$ The truth is if these games were called and reffed the way they should the nba would not be as entertaining for the casual basketball fan which is the vast majority of all the fan/consumers

When there is inflation, the fed hikes rates, to get to a more balanced economy. When every night someone scores 50+, it's time to allow tougher defense to get back to a balanced game, and not the crappy show of offense-only we see each night. 20 years ago, the average points per game was 93, this year is it 113. I have such mixed feelings about this 71: There was the lazy overtime, the missed call would have ended the scoring in the 4th, and the overall bad defense of the Bulls combined with the current style of play with ball dominant superstars and rules that make defense much harder to play in general but at the same time I can't help but feel like if you let a single player score 71 points on you that you deserve to lose. I don't care that calls were missed. I don't care that the rules favor the offense. You stop that player no matter what. This is demoralizing and the coach at least should have just doubled him at half court when he started eroding that lead they had. It's terrible all around in a way that I can't really even enjoy this accomplishment like I'd like to.

Oh give me a break, the Bulls were playing hard physical defense on Mitchell the entire game and had multiple wrong calls go their way as well. And holy sour grapes about Mitchell's lane violation while completely downplaying the Bulls missed violation. You actually argued that Vucevic got no advantage by moving early when he was the most important defender in boxing out Mitchell. This was the saltiest breakdown I've ever seen.
@elijahchavez7460
@elijahchavez7460 Жыл бұрын
Just say you didn’t watch the game. Even if vuc did commit a lane violation, which you’re admitting, than you’re also admitting the refs missed the call and they should have reshot the free throw. The history books won’t change but damn the refereeing can at least attempt to and the least we can do as fans is call for fair games.
@itskmillz
@itskmillz Жыл бұрын
@@elijahchavez7460 Yes I agree they should have re-shot the free throw but for Nick to argue the violation was on Mitchell is like saying he shouldn't have even been given another FT at all. It's one sided obviously biased opinions from salty fans that the refs missed this call and therefore cost their favorite team the game. I agree that the refs are shit most games but what's funny to me is that nobody whining about this game probably even realizes how often the Cavs are on the worse end of horrible calls. They also probably ignored all of their terrible calls in the first half that hurt the Cavs. The Cavs v Clippers "collapse" game this year was completely due to the refs blowing call after call and even a no call where a guy grabbed the net to help him get higher to dunk LOL

The refs lmao That's a great joke considering how much the Cavs have gotten fouled this year and it hasn't been fucking called... Plus, you want to talk about "reaction time" when it comes to Nicola stepping into the lane, and how hard it would be for the ref to actually see that, but you fail to mention that when Donovan moves it's barely much longer then Vuc moving into the lane early himself. People whining about a missed call are just jealous their teams star hasn't had a performance like this.
