Walt in ep. 9 being so self-satisfied when he gets to tell Marie and Skyler how much money he made "gambling" is a subtle but very significant character moment. It's easy to think of him being motivated by greed, but really he doesn't care so much about the money (which Skyler just offered to give away on his behalf without bringing it up with him first), as he does getting credit for having earned it himself. Walt's big sin was always Pride, not Greed. In fact, in these two episodes Jesse is the one complaining about getting ripped off by Gus, while Walt is putting it in the perspective that they're making more money than they ever dreamed of and should be happy with that. We, of course, know Jesse really isn't particularly greedy, and is unlikely to ever even spend what he's already made off of Gus so far, but he does have some sort of need to feel more respected than he has in his past life, that does warrant some comparison to Walt's need for respect. Walt just has the brain bug way, way worse than Jesse ever will.

Hey Natascha, I was just about to go to bed at 3am when I saw this video and just had to watch. Your intro shows how far you’ve come. You’re the consummate professional KZbinr now with your 22k! I remember telling you, you were gonna be great and look at you now! Different level. Please give us BB more regularly! And I will tell you exactly what you watch after this. You firstly watch El Camino - the Brraking Bad Movie…then you watch Better Call Saul. You’ll love both! Keep doing a great job gorgeous!x

If you're going to consider another T.V. show, the important thing is to choose one that gets you excited. Some that I've seen many reactors get excited about are Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Star Trek: the Next Generation, and Doctor Who (starting in 2005). For you specifically, I would also recommend Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist; it was a lot of fun and I think you'd love it.

And about most of the fly hunt being a bust and Walt taking a knocker in falling off the railing and onto one of those big cans, and just being a boob sometimes, to be udderly straight with you, it's clear he has more than a bit of Hal in him (Malcolm in the Middle).

I mean, theres no completely safe way to transport drugs, doesn’t matter how you transport or hide it you bring a drug dog they’re gonna find it. that’s why Gus put so much work into this persona of a respectful business man that supported law-enforcement. it wasn’t smart for Walter to get into drugs when his brother was a DEA agent that was specifically tasked with finding meth, but look how long it took Hank to figure it out. sometimes the hardest things to find are right in front of you the whole time.

If anyone wants to go into business. The first thing you must develop before anything else is to develop a true poker face like Gus Fring. No emotion. Just the topic at hand. Always keep everyone guessing on your intentions. Look at official pictures of John D. Rockefeller. That face created the largest fortune in history. Then commit yourself to do common things uncommonly well. Another trait that Gus shares with Rockefeller.

Plus, their risk of being arrested/killed by rivals is SO much less under Gus: Gus handles all the distribution, sales, and competition from rivals, all MAJOR headaches Walt & Jesse suddenly don’t have to worry about.
@jebova2301
@jebova2301 17 күн бұрын
Yep. So many people think they are getting shafted, when the deal is actually a pretty good one for them. Before, they had to source all the precursors and equipment. They had to find a safe place to cook. They had to take all the risk selling. When someone robbed one of their dealers, they had to deal with that situation and all the stress that came with it. When Badger got arrested, they had to spend a small fortune(for them) to get him out of hot water. With this situation, they have none of that to worry about. All they have to do is show up to work and cook, then they can laugh all the way to the bank. In these three months, they would each make virtually double what they had made in all the time leading up to it. Sure, they might only be getting about 3% of all the revenue, but look at all the other work that has already been handled for them.
@TheRepublican777

But with Gus they have protection and Gus has to pay a lot of people for all that including his other two businesses. And what Jesse doesn't understand because he doesn't know this is that Gus didn't want to pay him Walt make us bring him in so what split his 3 million with Jesse 3 million and that's why it seems like they are not getting paid enough because Gus was paying Gail separately as the assistant that's the way I understand it

"I respect the strategy, in your position, I would have done the same". 🔥 No music necessary, just the sound of Walt's creaking chair, in a room way out in the desert- just the two of them. The tension is building up between Walt & Gus. You can see the gears turning in both their heads in that scene. It feels pivotal. Walt seems desperate, laying out all his cards to Gus like he's in a panic and doesn't know what to do with himself ever since he got a real look into Gus's high iq plays. Gus places his food platter in the middle of two tables put together- far from both their reach... Is the food really necessary? He knows neither of them will touch it. It almost symbolizes life and in order for Walt to acquire it he must reach out and become vulnerable to Gus- cross Gus. Like the whole idea of a handshake and reaching out your arm to show vulnerability and trustworthiness. Gus provided Walt the platter, not the other way around. Funny since Walt is asking Gus for security for his life. (there's always a food platter at Gus's meetings like with Juan, the cousins & Hector, as a symbol of authority. The life giver/taker like at his food chain he gives life) Gus breaks down and his sinister side becomes more apparent as Walt exposes him. Half their faces being lit and the other half in the dark- showing their two-sidedness. Walt's shadow on his right side (right side being correct, moral) with his sinister half bright in full display. While Gus's sinister side being kept in the shadows. Gus makes a mockery of Walt flashing numbers in front of him which just feels like gaslighting to the audience, maybe to Walt too. Overall it's safe to say the scene feels very Kafkaesque! Skyler's lullaby to Holly over the fly in the cold open is from Phoenix when Walt is watching the nature show about an elephant and her calf. A reminder of the innocent lives Walt's destroyed to get to where he's at now and the fly is representation for the guilt and skeletons that are following Walt's conscience. There are references to the fly throughout the whole series in the shots & in the music. One of the writers said he wanted the fly to have a "menacing presence". I believe Vince & Rian Johnson were paying homage to the 1986 Jeff Goldblum remake: 'The Fly'. You can't help but think of this episode while watching it. The fly is the reason for Seth's (the protagonist) downfall hence why Walt treats it as if it's so deadly to them. The fly is representation for the morally wrong decisions Walt's made that he can't shake free from. It wakes him up at night in the closing scene. It's to say he was or still partially is a "good man" at least enough to feel remorse. He came from a place of morals before the criminal lifestyle to a certain degree. The metal reaction vessels in the lab resemble the Telepods from the movie, the lab itself and it's high ceilings resemble it's industrial warehouse-esque set. Walt even says the fly is not Particularly dangerous to them. And "This fly is a major problem for us it will ruin our batch- we need to destroy it and every trace of it. Failing that... We're Dead". So much emphasis on the fly- as if the fly itself is deadly to them and not Gus. Seth is careless about the telepod machine's safety precautions after awhile, I like to think that's reflected when Walt finally says: "it's all contaminated" aside from accepting his fate. Jesse on top of the ladder could be an analogy for some kind of moral high ground while Walt holds onto it from down below, propping it up while struggling with Jane guilt. Walt asks Jesse what are the odds that he runs into Jane's father at the bar, which was part of the catalyst for Jane's tragedy sorta like what are the odds of a fly flying into the telepod with Seth? The fly was out of it's element like Walter is in this business. It reminds me of 0210 when after Walt gets done installing the new water heater Jr burns his hand from the hot water as if even when Walt tries to do good, bad things happen. Literally the theme. Walt says: "You want them to miss you, you want their memories of you to be..." good, is what he was thinking. Seth wasn't proud of his work and didn't necessarily want his lover to see what he had turned into... Seth had a genius brain with such a bright future ahead of him and good intentions but by mostly circumstance he turned into an unlovable, deplorable monster that would rather be dead then carry on- a lot like Walter- "Oh, if I had just lived right up to that moment... and not one second more". Jesse's opossum rant is referencing the two-sidedness of the characters and his story about the cancer spreading to his aunt's brain and changing her could also be a nod to the movie. Not to mention BB is all about Change, Metamorphosis and Assimilation.
