Only thing cooler than that might be a cab with air conditioning for a zero turn mower, which they have. It would also be nice if the fan was variable speed switch. I suppose once in a while you would have to blow off the dust but that's the way to go.

Hey Josh, how are you doing. It seems like it found is somewhat on the noisy side but I guess with the tractor running it kind of drowns that out. May I suggest that when you hook the power up to these items do not go directly to the battery and find a circuit that is switched with the on and off switch on your tractor. That way you won’t leave it running all the time. Just a thought.

Lot of farm videos complain about the biting bugs that swarm and attack as the the farmer goes about his or her business. It's all about Spring and those nasty bugs. Really interested in how they hold up bouncing around with farm use. Seems like a-lot of stress in the fan mount. I have to say that, in my opinion, your high recommendation of a product that is double the price of their most expensive competitor, for what is essentially a single speed fan in difference, is changing my overall view of your channel. Your recommendation that a $1200 canopy with a built-in fan as an essential & worthwhile tool to purchase for every piece of compatible equipment a Homesteader owns is reason for me to second guess any equipment recommendations you make. Or, at the very least, shows a disconnect between what you propagate through your channel & what I look for from enthusiast content producers such as yourself. I seek creative & innovative solutions that will help me achieve my property development & management goals in fiscally responsible ways. This video shows me that, quite simply, I can't trust the tools you recommend as being an effective, efficient, & worthwhile investment for me as a consumer. Great concept. Too expensive for what it is. Not to mention the product website has significant room for improvement & is missing the information that customers are actually looking for - pricing & product access. Maybe this will get better as they are able to scale down the price (significantly) & with better innovations - like multiple speed settings, dash-mounted controls, & integration with ignition-based power availability. I'd also like to see a quick attach system for road travel removal or stowage. Anything to justify the high price. Right now it just feels like gouging.
@StoneyRidgeFarmer

If you can't afford one...just don't get one buddy...but price yourself a standard canopy at your local tractor dealership and you'll find the cool top is a great value. Not sure what else to say.......but keeping the sun and dust off ya and staying cool is pretty nice. If it's worth it to you...get one..if not...then don't but if you call kubota, deere or agco and order a canopy for your tractor it will be comparably priced...without a fan
@DrgnRebrn
@DrgnRebrn Жыл бұрын
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer that's not true. I did price shop before commenting. The most expensive aftermarket canopy I could find was $599. No fan, but the price difference doesn't justify that being what appears to be the only major difference. I also never said I "had" to get one, I stated my trust in you as an advocate to property owners looking for great advice on ways to work our property through tools, tips, shared experiences, etc had been alerted as a result of this video & your support & pushing of a product that is so expensive. I get the need to keep sun & dust off, & bugs away too! Recommending what is essentially a $600 canopy paired with a $600 fan mounted to it just seems like the wrong approach. Thanks for what you do, your time, your energy, & your passion. Your videos have helped me a lot. This one just left me scratching my head.
@bggfarm

Purchased mine from Good Works Tractors / Rhinohide for $419 (of course no fan). I only see the fan as a benefit of you are stationary using the backhoe. Other than that, you’re moving creating a breeze. And don’t want field dust blowing down on me. It’s over priced for what it “provides”. The average farmer doesn’t have a company to come sponsor a video and install them at a discount or free or provide kickbacks for purchase made from the video links. This comment has validity to it. Majority of farmers and workers are looking for tools and accessories that benefit them without costing a fortune. Would prefer to see videos that help the homesteader and farmers save money and save on costs of goods. Be blessed

@@StoneyRidgeFarmer I'm not walking through the woods and trimming low limbs or cutting down small trees that I might possibly be around. 70 acres of steep mountainside and constantly driving up into the woods to get calves or find rocks to use as I'm expanding things. I have an aluminum canopy on one tractor and one tractor without a canopy that I was wanting to put one of these on. It just has to be bigger and made out of thin metal instead of the fiberglass. Plus it's been my experience when fiberglass is used it eventually cracks and starts dropping on you - especially when bolt holes are designed into it. Don't feel like itching a bunch a few yrs from now in the fields ;) Guess these are just designed for small equipment - I would like one designed for something in the 50hp+ range if that makes sense.

The mesh is 2" wide and 4" tall, black powder coated steel 16 gauge. My concern is that it will look slanted as it follows the grade up and down the hill. Any other ideas you could suggest? How about for a Garden Tractor without a "stock" ROPS? I proudly use my 1986 CRAFTSMAN GT6000 to mow my father-in-laws 5+ Acres, and I am sick of having to wear a hat that makes me look like a 1940s French Foreign Legion member in Africa! This would be VERY nice to have, especially with "quick connects" for when not in use... Looks like it is time for you to clean those Battery Terminals, and coat them with some Petroleum Jelly (or Dielectric Grease) to keep the "FUZZ" away.

I just don’t see the cost benefit. Cost to put these on each piece of equipment of the farm: $1,300 x 4 = $5,200 Amount of revenue made from this item to put back into my farm: $0 That’s a LOT of feed, seed and fuel money wasted. If you’re a hobby farmer with “F”-it money laying around, then this product is great!

BGG....I see you've left a few comments on this. My brother....a tractor canopy from your local dealer without a fan would cost ya around $1k. This costs around $1.2k. It keeps you shaded and cool as you mow for hours on end. Most don't have as many machines as I do.....you've gotta understand that I not only run a farm..I run a social media content creation business. I traveled last week to Minnesota....two weeks before to Kentucky farm show. So...what I'm showing ya here is options...not just 5 canopies on my machines....the options and the look of each one so you can make an informed purchase decision. I'm telling ya....these tops are awesome, and I wouldn't be showing ya if I didn't think they were buddy. You do understand that I'm showing you options right? Colors...different machines and how it's all set up. Hold back the immediate urge to take a stab at me....and understand my brother....I'm here to show you interesting tools and products that you might wanna try on your tractor. Can you imaging baling hay in 100 degree heat with an awesome fan blasting down on ya...keeping you clean, cool and comfy? It's the next best thing to a cab tractor my friend. Be thankful that there's someone out here like me, showcasing the real world use of products like this on the property. That's what I do for a living brother!

@@StoneyRidgeFarmer thank you for your feedback brother. I greatly appreciate what you do, and what you provide to all of us out here. I just don’t personally see the ROI of this product. The ROI on this is being cool and comforatable on your machine...thus being more productive...and the skin cancer risk is totally decreased as you are sitting in the shade instead of expsosed out in the sun my friend. If a canopy cost $600...why not spend a few more bucks...the cost of 5 bags of groceries and have "air conditioning"....there's also no ROI on a family vacation...but we do it because we deserve the comfort my friend
@bggfarm
@bggfarm Жыл бұрын
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer somewhat agree and disagree brother. For me, 99% of the time my tractor/mower is in motion. I’m covered in the shade from the canopy and thus string the breeze blowing me to cool me. The CFM and volume produced by this size and voltage fan is not great enough in my study to see the benefit. If I was stationary or using the backhoe, then most definitely! As for vacations, if done correctly, there truly is an ROI. Not cash ROI, but the return is you are more relaxed, reenergized and have made amazing memories. Just don’t go where the other million crazies are. Lol. There isn’t a cost that can be placed on that. Keep up the great work. You’ve provided a lot of great material that we have used on our farm. Just not this one…and that’s okay 👍🏼 🇺🇸

Josh, you may want to do a little more research about products you recommend. There is no way to find a dealer list or MSRP for this product. Even the phone number on their web page is the plastic supplier, not this company. They do not post dealer list nor MSRP. Even the link you posted for this product under your name as an Amazon influencer doesn't show this product and an Amazon search doesn't find this product. This isn't the first item I purchased (or tried to purchase) from one of your videos. A while back you presented a automatic siphon system from a farm show. I ordered and set my money. It's been almost two months now (or maybe a month) and I still haven't received the product. I can't speak for others but I religiously follow your videos but in my experience you're getting unreliable for items you present. Please be more accurate and provide good reliable contact information. Thanks. P.S. I'm in south east Arizona and I REALLY need something like this.

UPDATE: I just received a call back from Terry returning my call this morning. He informed me the video from Josh is a little premature as the product will come out about May 1,. website will be update with where to buy and they will offer two online stores. From what Terry told me, MSRP for my Kubota 25HP tractor will hover around $1000. I'm really impressed about the quick call back. Now all I have to do is come up with a grand plus shipping.

@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Josh I humbly apologize. I didn't intend to discredit you or say you're a fraud. Quite the opposite. I just wanted to inform you of a few things. I ain't blaming you... just asking you to perhaps do a little more verifying info. Ex: Once again you just said a dealer list was on the website.. I know my old eyes are showing my age but for the life of me I still can't find a dealer list of the Cooltops website. But all is well. Terry told me on the phone yesterday the new website will go online the first part of May. It will have all the dealer information on it. And Terry also said they themselves are planning to open two online sales sites. Josh, Please forgive a grumpy old Air Force retiree with IMS.. Believe me I respect you and what you do.
