In this video I show you an amazing experiment where I actually make black fire! I show you how normally fire does not have a shadow since it is a source of light. Then I show you what happens when you shine a low pressure sodium vapor lamp on the fire. You still get no shadow, but something amazing happens when you put salt water on the fire! What how to make black fire!

@@guiabanana8642 Amaterasu is a mythological deity from Japanese mythology. However amaterasu in this context is deferring to the widely acclaimed Shonen Jump manga and anime.. Naruto and one of the series most favorite antagonist's -the Uchihas- Itachi primarily his jutsu/abilities (this one in particular is hereditary), it basically allows him to conjure a large black conflagration that engulfs anything in his direct line of sight capable of easily conflagrating a person even through clothing and armour. I'll elaborate a little more if you want because the mechanism that even allows him to produce the flame is a whole lot more convoluted.

It would probably turn a little bit brighter orange, just like the sodium lamp, due to the sodium ions releasing light.

The arc tube inside a high pressure sodium lamp is super cool because if you remove it from the bulb and power it with a microwave transformer till it turns orange and then unpower it, the tube will glow blue very dimly for quite a while.I tried it and my arc tube glowed for well over half an hour.Not sure if the lamp in the video will do the same.It's basically witchcraft.

I saw a video on KZbin (sorry I cannot find the link). It tells about how are brain fills in colour. So a strawberry which is totally black and white looks kinda red. So what we think is orange might be grey. To check if it is actually true. Pick a point on the screen that seems orange and using a digital art program, fill the whole area with that picked colour. If it is orange then it's orange. And if it's grey, you brain was playing tricks on you.

​@@Coco-Loco While it's true our brain fills in color on things we already associate with images, things that we aren't too sure what their original color is can be filled in incorrectly. Although things can look like they have color while actually being grey, color does in fact exist. It's just that we see real color so often that our brain can get tricked into thinking it's seeing color. I've seen a similar video (possibly even the same one). I can agree with most of everything you said, just saying that color is no always filled in. This was a bad rant of me lacking at least 20 hours of sleep. You can also tell exactly what elements are burning by precisely measuring the light its emitting through gamma spectroscopy. He showed the wavelength measurements for the lamp, but this works with anything if you measure the energy of the photons which I think is very cool. I imagine you can recreate the experiment if you find a pure light source of any kind and match what's burning to the emitter, it shouldn't necessarily have to be sodium. Still cool though.
