I'm in my 50s, grew up listening to all different kinds of music through my parents and extended relatives, then later gathered friends who I swapped music with. And I have always loved music more than just about anything in the world. But I swear, when I hear songs that I've heard a hundred times on your channel, as the kids say "it hits different." There are so many songs that I have enjoyed throughout my life, but I think hearing them through your fresh ears, and seeing the joy you two feel just makes them even better. I seriously cannot tell you how much enjoyment I get from this channel. I've watched a number of KZbin reactors over the years, but you are just special and I appreciate you so much.

Thank You for the original comment & Thanks to The Rob Squad! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Sinatra, Dean Martin, Perry Como and Andy Williams made it look so effortless when they sang a song. It was like they just opened their mouths and they hit every note perfectly. They also had great music arrangers and the record studios provided the best musicians and orchestras for their recordings. I should add Bing Crosby to that group though he was really from the previous generation to them.

I remember back in the 60's, when I was a young thing. If you listened to the radio, they would play Sinatra & others along with rock and roll songs. You would hear The Rolling Stones, followed by The Supremes, and then Frank Sinatra (or Dean Martin, etc.). You grew up hearing a little bit of everything.

I'm not sure what Frank songs you've already listened to but his album "Sinatra at the Sands" is where the real Frank shines, especially with the Count Basie Big Band. Every song on that double album is incredible. You feel the electricity of the classic Vegas, it was recorded in 1966 when Frank turned 50. (It's his birthday today) is that why you featured him? More crooners please, you guys are great!

Not only did he hang out with the mob, he partied with the Kennedys, and sang the jingle for JFK's winning presidential campaign. He plays a mob boss in the less serious musical "Robin and the 7 Hoods", with co-stars Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Sammy Davis Jr. and Barbara Rush (among others). Dean used to kid him on TV about singing "doobie doobie do" in Strangers in the Night.

You two really need to react to Frank Sinatra and his daughter Nancy as they duet their way through the song SOMETHING STUPID. It is a beautiful song and the two of them really knock it out of the park. Speaking of Nancy, a reaction to her hit songs BANG BANG and SUGAR TOWN would be much appreciated. As for Frank, the best song of celebration in his catalog, in my opinion, of a love most thrilling has yet to make its way to your ears. The song is (I'VE GOT YOU) UNDER MY SKIN. The song carries all of the signature Frank Sinatra moments as it celebrates the realization of a most exuberant and thrilling love. The orchestra adds the necessary energetic swing thanks to conductor Nelson Riddle, who knows exactly how to support the feeling of a love supreme. Finally, there is a 1965 black and white live recording session of Frank with a small audience of friends and others as he sings, IT WAS A VERY GOOD YEAR. Again, with Nelson Riddle scoring the musical journey. Love you guys. The best reaction channel. You deserve 5ook subscribers and support that goal. And to enjoy

The year I turned 36, It Was a Very Good Year started to haunt me because I knew I was into the last verse. Add me to the list of folks whose Dad played Sinatra and the rest of the Rat Pack on his record player, along with jazz greats and show tunes. He grew up in Harlem of the 1930s and 40s, so he got to hear the greats live in those ballrooms. Well, the ones who would come to Harlem, which were, of course, only the Black artists

As stated, the singer they were trying to get booked into the Vegas club in The Godfather is based on how Sinatra is rumored to have gotten his start. This was was actually a #1 hit on the Billboard charts when it came out in 1966. And BTW, New York isn't the only city Frank is associated with. "My Kind of Town" Chicago was a Sinatra staple at his concerts. From his movie "Robin and the Seven Hoods". Might want to visit that one at some point.

Witchcraft *Dean Martin: 1. Everybody Love Somebody (London 1965) His signature song 2. For the Good Times 3. Sway 4. My Rifle, My Pony and Me ( from the movie Rio Bravo. There's a second song with Ricky Nelson ...watch both) *Duet of Dean Martin with The Mills Brothers....Paper Doll & Up a lazy River ( really good and fun) *Mills Brothers....Basin Street Blues.( Video with the Boston Pops Orchestra...some special effects that you will love) *Sammy Davis Jr. 1. Somewhere My Love (Andy was known for singing movie theme songs) You watched the video, Now You Has Jazz with Bing Crosby and Louis Armstrong. It comes from the movie *High Society with Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra. They sing a couple of songs in the movie. You might be interested in reacting to this movie on your channel. Just as in the movie where Fontane is trying to get cast in a movie, Sinatra was also trying to get in a movie to jump start his career. You just can’t beat the 50s, 60s, 70s and the 80s music just so special to hear to your ears. Music will never be the same! Brings me memories of my Grandma and Grandad which makes me upset but I just love the music❤ I’m glad I found your channel your reactions are the best.

How ironic that you chose a Frank Sinatra song TODAY seeing that it is his birthday! Or did you already know that…..😉 My favorite song of his is It Was A Very Good Year. It is a bittersweet song to those of us in our golden years.

When I was just a young kid, my mom used to play Frank music all the time. She said she used to go to his concerts. She grew up on the East Coast. It was just like a Beatles concert. She said screaming young girls in the front row all swooning over Frank Sinatra, I think he actually might’ve been bigger than the Beatles at least at the time.

Believe it or not, this song charted on the pop/rock charts! We all loved Frank even if he was much older, and a crooner. His voice is so special, who didn’t want to hear him sing?

I grew up in South Jersey as a kid & a local radio personality Sid Mark played Frank Sinatra on Friday nights & Sunday morning. Fridays with Frank & Sundays with Sinatra that I always listed too. My aunt use to say you are an old soul & must of been here before to be listening to Sinatra as a teen. Jay I see someone already mentioned it but if you have been watching documentaries on the Godfather this week you should know the Jonny Fontaine character was based on Frank Sinatra. The story of how the fictional Godfather had a bandleader sign the papers to release Jonny "signature or brains🤯 would be on the contract is allegedly how Sinatra obtained his release from his Tommy Dorsey contract as Michael said true story Kay 😳

Frank owned the CalNeva casino hotel, in South Lake Tahoe. The whole West Coast syndicate used to have meetings in the basement of the hotel. Frank was very much a part of the syndicate. But, he was able to keep it under wraps just enough that it just wasn't talked about. He was one of the most loved entertainers in our history. With his looks and voice, he was mesmerizing. On your free time, check out an episode of Johnny Carson's Tonight Show when Frank was a guest and Don Rickles walked onto the set, unannounced, and played on Sinatra's mob ties. So funny.

Glad you got back to Frank Sinatra! I used to dance on my grandfather's feet while this song played. I especially love this song and Fly Me To The Moon. I saw your reaction to the mob movie, but I just now remembered that our class was dressed in the mafia theme for the last party of the year. I still have my long, black gloves. I will look for the photos during the Christmas holidays.

Actually, this was recorded and released in 1965 - the height of the British Invasion and Beatlemania. And STILL made it to #1 in the Billboard charts. BTW Jay, the word you're looking for is "marquis" pronounced, in English, as "mar-kee".

While the Marquee is a little different from a Marquis, I believe you got the point across to them. I am a terrible speller, so over the years I have gotten crazy over the differences. Sorry, had to comment on it.

It's said that the Johnny Fontane character in the Godfather was based on Sinatra. He was indebted to the mob after that and would appear at their Las Vegas casinos to both perform and host parties for them. Band leader Jerry Dorsey had Sinatra under a contract that entitled Dorsey to 43% of Sinatra's LIFETIME earnings. Apparently he released Sinatra from that contract for the princely sum of $1. Maybe the story about an offer he couldn't refuse is true.

Sinatra's voice is superb , but what makes his voice standout even more is the the way the music Is being matched to his crooner voice ,there's so much Romance in the 1950s and 1960s Romantic classical masterpieces. I would like to introduce you guys to another Marvelous 1961 song called ⏩ " The Girl From Ipanema" by Dan Fontaine . It's one of the most romantic songs ever made check this beautiful song and title it's pure Romantic just like Frank Sinatra's songs and music.

Mr Marcello in New Orleans....lol I almost got in trouble dropping that name one time. (Story below) One evening we stopped by my father-in-law's little corner grocery store. There was a guy that had had too much spiked tea hanging out at the checkout counter. My brother-in-law was working the store that evening. A customer came in and in a raspy voice asked, "Do you have any "Contact" (a sinus medication). While my brother-in-law was directing him to which shelf, this guy started mumbling off names, Yeah...Mr X in Chicago, Mr Y in New York, one being Mr Marcello in New Orleans. It was like a comedy skit. They were so funny. Fast forward six+ months, my husband & I & my brother-in-law & his wife went out for the evening. We stopped for a nice dinner in an old home converted into a restaurant. My sister-in-law and I excused ourselves to the ladies room. As we were walking into the narrow hall there was this guy and he wasn't moving over to allow me to pass easily. I stopped dead in front of him, I wasn't giving way to let a man pass through. I gave him the evil eye and said, "Don't I know you? Oh, oh.....Mr Marcello, New Orleans". This guy immediately stands back against the wall and allows me to pass But....he then followed me & my sister-in-law into the women's bathroom. I'm thinking he must think I'm some entertainment ...from some party in New Orleans, so I pushed on him and called him by name and said "X, I'm Sonny's wife!". "Get Out!". "I was just joking about New Orleans. Sonny & his brother are out at a table". And I pushed him out. He disrespected me...twice. This was circa 1975. Carlos Joseph Marcello ; born Calogero Minacore; February 6, 1910 - March 3, 1993) was an Italian-American crime boss of the New Orleans crime family from 1947 to 1983.

So, my personal observation through life has always been that Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra, the king and the Chairman of the Board, are a top the pyramid of American entertainment. Another side of Sinatra: during his lifetime he raised over $1 billion for charities. There are literally a million stories about Frank Sinatra, of which my favorites are all of the Las Vegas stories. Truly a legend.

The Sinatra/Glen Campbell story. Glen Campbell was part of the wrecking crew studio musicians, even though he did not read music. this was a couple of years before he had his first hit singing...he was hired to play rhythm guitar [something very beneath his ability] on Stranger sin the Night. He ran though the chords with the person sitting next to him. the full orchestra was there. Frank stepped up to the mic to sing, the music started, it went a verse or so when Frank stopped the take. He looked over at Glen and said to the producer something like "Will tell this kid on the guitar to stop staring at me? It's very distracting." It was Glen playing but staring at Frank, he'd never seen Sinatra up close in person before and was starstruck. Campbell told this story much later in an interview. they both must have a big laugh later when Glen became a big star..
