I really disliked it. Assault is CQC and it fired way too slow prepatch to contend with most fights. Then again my internet is trash so that may not have helped.

The Hellriegal, Autimatico and MP18 Trench we’re all perfect for CQC. Don’t know why they made the SMG 08 have the same niche as those. It was perfect as a mid range assault weapon. Could have just buffed its range or damage rather than making another CQC gun.

AlphaSierra1196 MP18 is better for mid, it's fire rate pushes your luck when it comes to fighting multiple enemies. Hellriegel is a gamble in CQC because of its overheat. Auto is a pure bred CQC weapon but only for small engagements or grouped up enemies. This isn't as unneccesary as you might think, the SMG is now an effective close to mid weapon for extended combat. A push by multiple targets can be beaten off if you remember to lift your finger off the trigger to let the heat cool off a bit. No other weapon does that so effectively. The riegel can be used the same way but its fire rate makes it less viable for direct group encounters. It's filling a niche between two other niches, while Apocalypse brought the RSC SMG which fills the mid to long range niche that assault lacks.

I unlocked it pretty recently pre-pacth and my one complaint was that it was a bit too weak even though I liked the slower rate of fire. A couple days later I play again and I thought I was using a completely different weapon lmao

The Ribeyrolls (or whatever it's called) is great for mid-range. It also has a bipod and is almost perfectly accurate at distance if you're prone, but it aims down the sights well at all times.

brent pollock There are intact wine bottles scattered around the apocalypse maps in certain locations. Use these bottles to obtain 5 melee kills and then you unlock the broken bottle. The wine bottles don‘t respawn for the rest of the round after being picked up and switching away from them makes them disappear. You also can‘t kill multiple people with one intact wine bottle, they shatter after one hit (They also kill in one hit)

Why aren't you using the optical version? Optical is way better because of the better accuracy while standing / moving. Only thing the factory offers is increased recovery of recoil NOT lesser recoil. If you burst fire with optical vs factory you dont really notice the faster recoil recovery, it's only for longer bursts which you shouldn't be doing anyways. Only thing you gotta change though is the zoom optics when using optical. Put it on 1.25x zoom

Your right Jack the recoil is OP for console. Its a close range weapon for console and you need to burst fire for medium range.

Why is this not the experience when jumping onto a stationary machine gun? Please DICE, copy+paste this onto stationary machine guns! Out of anything, machine gun nests should be mowing down squads that aren't strategically taking them out. They are the biggest let down of the World War 1 experience for me. I think I'm like one kill away from unlocking this. Looking forward to it (Just started playing again after being away from it for six months, and feel like a total noob again.) Your character voice got deep because when there is an explosion that goes off super close to you sometimes recreated that slow moving feel where everything is in slow motion and the voices sound deep and muffled.

So it's essentially an automatico but with a 80-round boxmag and more damage output .... It's about as ridiculous on paper as it is in practice. BF1 already had some serious issues with poor relative gun balance - which is why everyone used the hellregal or the automatico. Now this one appears to roll the best of both those diametrical opposites into one.... what other SMGs? ...

They should update BF1 again, and this time change the games mechanics and gun stats depending on the platform. It's easier to reduce recoil on PC. But not on console. Stuff like that should be tweaked depending on the platform.
