@@peshawar4410 it's more then an opinion. I once saw as part of R&R a interesting welding technique that used a mixture of sand and a dirt that I assume was clay rich dirt. The sand and dirt with a tiny amount of water created a paste that acted like a flux to keep air out of the fridge weld to prevent scale from forming during the forge welding process. Something like that would never be done in the US. Such knowledge seems to be rare. Especially in english or in a teaching capacity. Combined with the other interesting stuff I saw during my brief trip into the peshwar area the amazing machines and techniques being employed. Really wish I had more time in the area to learn and absorb more.

That guy with the flame cutting, is a wage slave. that is the only operation he does all day every day. we haven't used such machines commonly in the united sates for 30 years at least, i would bet that machine in the video was made in the usa, This factory is a disgrace, the greedy factory owner can find a replacement for any of these men and hire a nobody who is waiting at his door. these people need a trade union. In the united states the trade unions and their workers have been demonized by the slave drivers of wall street madison avenue and hollywood . if it trade unions had not been once strong in the united states, we would have sweat shops like this in every town in the united states.

@@daveticehurst4191 That's what I thought. I've used the cutting torch for years, mainly to remove rusted bolts in auto repair. Ship hull material is normally mild steel with .2 or .3 percent carbon. This is a little low for a barrel. You could harden it to a 3mm deep carbon to get a reasonable hardnesses. However good guns use 4140 steel and only small caliber guns could use the ship steel. The other way us to line the bore with chromoly sleeve.

For low carbon steel ( 0.1 - 0.25%C ,, Mild Steel, 1020, 5120, 8620 etc) hardening, do you honestly think that these guys have a carburizing furnace, let alone a closed quench one? BTW, a 3mm hardened case depth will take about 2-3 days depending on how well controlled the atmosphere is to achieve the required carbon infusion depth. Here again I have my doubts about their capacity For medium carbon steel ( 0.4 - 0.6%C,, 4140, 1045, etc) I would doubt very much that they have a quench furnace and the required tempering furnaces Please don't get me started on process control for either options These guns are death traps,, likely to be more dangerous to the shooter than the target.

@@boodeywawiaw8879 actually the chinese invented black powder which started this madness. they invented guns in europe before the new world was discovered. if americans invented guns than the native americans did that, but then they must have made their guns of potery or stones, as they had no steel. Now if the natives down south in sunny mexico or down south america invented guns, than they could have made them out of gold. no americans did not invent guns. columbus was the first dude in the new world with a gun that came from across the ocean.
