That is so awesome footage my friend. I have a quick question for you. I'm going to Halong Bay this coming January. How do you get a permit to fly your drone? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Derrick Huynh at the time I don't think there were any regulation on drones at halong bay. No signs, flyers, or warnings.

Really nice footage, very impressive for a Mavic. Which settings do you shoot your video on? I assume a lot of work in post for sharpness and colour grading also?

Marcus Woodbridge this is was when I first got my Mavic. I wasn't experimenting too much with the settings so everything was on auto 0,0,0. I used final cut pro and the "balance color function" and used the preset "warm" filter. that is it.

CDK I only had two at the time but now I have 4 and a charging hub. I use the "raptor" carrying case it's awesome.

Hey dude - great mini movie. Two questions for you. 1. The colour looks very cinematic. How did you do this? 2. That zoom transition looks neat. Thats not in FCP? Is it a free plugin?

Leigh Dedhar this was shot on the normal color profile with settings at 0. Halong bay is a pretty magical place which probably lends to the cinematic look. The only thing I did was auto balance the color and added the fcp warm filter. The zoom transitions are a plug in. A quick google search will yield you the plugins for fcp

Brian H I would invest in final cut pro. It really opens up a whole new world of editing, transitions, special effects, color grading, etc.

Brian H you can use a dope premiere, it gives you better verity of options and you can pay monthly if you can't afford Final Cut Pro, and it isn't expensive monthly if your budget is low right now just a few ideas to keep in mind

Did you fly the drone from the boat? if so how did you return? Is there a mode where the drone will return where the controller is instead of at take off?

nonesounique yes I did. there is a feature to return back to remote controller location. I typically used return to home and then manually landed when it got closer or caught it out of mid air

Ryan Jones this was auto everything. 4k, 24p. In final cut auto balanced the color and used "warm" setting. Check out my latest video with d-cinelike -2, -2, -2 with color grade

Urs Kämpfer I would just take it and not worry about it too much. I don't recall seeing any police on my entire trip. I would have to say it's pretty lax over there. Also, if you do face any trouble a few bucks will go a long way. I never had an issue at any airport either.
