We are from Olafsfjordur, it is North Iceland. For us the most beautiful part of Iceland. Winter is difficult and dangerous but it teach us to be patient... Summer cures all the winter wounds with it's green mountains and sound of sheeps. :D

I've been lucky enough to visit Iceland on several occassions (2013, 2014,2015,2016) and I was desperate to go back again this year, but of course that proved impossible. Hopefully I'll be back next year. I really miss it. It's a beautiful country populated with friendly, beautiful people. My favourite place on the planet.

Iceland is the best that I really want to visit one day because the aurora, confirm. The other thing is, the water looks incredibly clean and full of green nature.

Don't hesitate. Go to Iceland. Caution, between 15 april and 15 September, aurora are not visible because of the "midnight sun" but the light is wonderful. 50 years ago, a French was singing Sky, Sun and Sea. Icelandic add Snow and it is awesome. Watch the fjords between Akureyri and Ólafsfjörður and between Djúpivogur and Reyðarfjörður. Everywhere the water is clean and you may drink it. It is delicious and each waterfall has its own taste. Iceland is known for its waterfalls and cañons. It is true, it is to be seen. But less iconic landscapes are also to be seen. You will never regret. And, if you have time, don't go to Iceland by airplane but take the ferry Norröna from Denmark to Iceland. It is a plus.

My father was a Naval aviator and our family lived in Iceland for two years, my last two years of high school--1967-1969.. My father crash landed the same type plane, a Boeing DC-3 (Navy R4D-S), you shot which is close to Vik, but my father's plane is located up in the remote northeast near Porshofn. A Dutch waiter at the only restaurant in town had a DJI Phantom 3 pro and shot some beautiful images of the plane resting where it has remained since July 25, 1969. Once I had viewed the video it got me encouraged/interested to purchase a drone. I now have a Mavic Pro and a Phantom 4. Learning the ins and outs to pilot and to capture video such as the incredible footage you were able to. Wife I returned again to Iceland in Sept 2016 for almost a month. Much of the trip in an RV to do the Ring Road. Took so many photos and video clips but most don't compare to what you were able to capture because a still camera just can not give the same perspective what a drone can do. Your video has definitely encouraged us to go back next year, but this time go a little earlier in the year to capture many of the bird colonies that had left for the winter when we toured in Sept. But too damn many tourists in Iceland these days. Next trip less time in Reykjavik and save those days for the getting away to the real beauty of Iceland.
