Yup and machines don’t ask for raises, don’t require health and dental, don’t ask for a 401k, they don’t try to sue the company when they get hurt, they don’t demand breaks and lunches, they can work for days at a time without complaining, they don’t ask for over time, they can be replaced without a union strike happening, they don’t start drama with other co workers, yea they have the occasional break down every 4 months but they earned it 😂

I never work with out ear protection, but rarely use anything else. Angle grind shirtless with out googles, but never with out ear plugs. The logic is, you may get something in your eye, you may get a spark on your skin, but 100% your ear drums will get assaulted. Yes I should take better care but I protect my hearing 100% of the time.

A guy I knew bid on a job to make some sae 4340 rings. The customers print called out to make them from four inch plate. He talked with the engineer and was give the go ahead to have them ring forged. They were four foot OD and a three inch wall. He essentially made them for free, the profit was the difference in the cost of the materials.

Kellering with the end of a ball nose end mill is a very inefficient way to use it. That is why five axis is so awesome. You cut with the cutter tipped at forty five degrees. The center of the end mill is not turning.
