@loicdurand13212 жыл бұрын
No. On Ippon seoi nage, you have to lower your center of gravity (your belt must be lower than his belt witch is easy to do in that situation) and by leaning forward, your hips will knock him on your back where it will be easy to finish the throw. Remember that you have to put your opponent off balance (put him on his toes. If he is running to you is the best) before doing this technique.

It's good to see this sort of thing is possible. Fighting can be really difficult for someone of my height in a karate format. Bigger people tend to have a larger radius to hit than shorties so I gotta dance in and out just to make a hit. So tiring!!

I would love to see hip throws being done by the taller guys on shorter guys. That is the hard part when your hip is at someone's chest and you have to get it under their center of gravity. Please if you can post some of those.
@TheSilence15 жыл бұрын
That's the beauty of judo. The hip throws favor the shorter wrestler, and the leg sweeps favor the taller wrestler.
@jestfullgremblim80022 жыл бұрын
Just lift them, i'm no tall girl but the times that i saw tall Judokas hip-throwing smaller ones, they would mostly use strenght a lot. It depends on the throw you're doing tho, Tai Otoshi isn't a hip throw but it is a forward one and it doesn't need you to change a lot of stuff if you're tall, same with Uchi Mata, you can do a traditional Uchi Mata even if you are tall, can work with Harai Goshi too!! Now then, the throws in which you will struggle and will need to use your body strength are O Goshi, Koshi Guruma (somewhat), Ippon Seoi, and Sode Tsurikomi Goshi. You can still do the drop Ippon Seoi tho

I do not recommend this against taller opponents! A strong and agile opponent who is taller will not allow this throw unless you get him off his feet. Unless you load him on your back or get him off his feet you will be simply pulling him over you and falling on top of you. You will hit the ground with his weight on your back and possibly dislocate your shoulder. This has happened in randori; be advised.
