THAI ISAAN people are actually Lao people, this part of Laos was taken over by Thai people that is why they call themselves Thai Isaan but truly they are Laos, Thai Isaan dialect is most definitely Laotion lamguage, another fact is that Lao and Thai are the same people historically divided by politics that is why our language and culture is the same

My grandma and dad always says we are Lao people but my aunt says we are thai issan. I'm half and never understood why they say different but your explanation is easily understood and well put, thank you for that 🥰

@@chelshisfave yes my parents are Laos and my mom says her mom is Thai Isaan, I was confused at first too, then after some research, I found out that Thai took over a part of Laos, that is why Isaan language is most definitely Laotion language, they made a drama (or Lakorn) about this but I forget the name of the drama, another fact is that Nadech (a well known Thai celebrity) is Isaan so his parents speak Laos

French colonization carved out Laos and Cambodia from Siam. Thai and Lao are part of the same larger Tai ethnic group which includes smaller Tai tribes in Southern China, Northern Vietnam, and Northeast Myanmar. That background said, there is absolutely no interest anywhere to reconstitute the Siamese Empire again. Lao is Communist, as is Vietnam and China. It’s good enough to freely trade, travel, and live in peace with good neighbors. 🙏🏻🇹🇭🇱🇦

Lao food for the win!!! Bursting with flavour-flave 🔥🔥🔥! I like the way you described Mok Pa. It tasted like home! It sure is a comfort food. For extra heat with khao poon try it with with a whole fried chili pepper with each slurp! Usually you can find whole fried chilies as garnish or on the side. Or you can add some ground chilies too! Enjoy! 😋😋🌶🌶🌶

The pink sausage is som moo it is actually fermented, and a lot of people eat it without cooking it. Which keeps the very nice complex textures intact, and the slight sourness from being fermented can be tasted. It goes really well with some sticky rice and papaya salad. Cooking it softness the pork skins that are within the meat mixture, and dulls the sourness. You should definitely giving it a try the other way and see what you think. You can find it at any Thai, Vietnamese, or Lao store! Tip from a mixed Lao girl!

Remember, Thai and Lao people speak the Tai kradai language. Assam India were founded by our Tai brothers. The Tai Ahom. We are Tai people and we are everywhere in Asia.

Lao people have Similar experiences to African American History, Lao became slaves when Thailand was newly formed. Lao people literally built the country, but were and are still looked down upon til this day. All the best food (spicy and dank), music (morlam) and culture from Thailand is from Issan (which means NORTH EASTERN) Thai government even have policies to erase Lao identity, an begun thai nationalism propaganda. Thai even use the term, "Lao" as a slur. be Lao and proud yall!
