All technology geared around intensive operations, producing terrible food quality, not to mention the bare minimum standards of space/housing m2. All meat should be high welfare. It should be carry a premium price and be organic standard only. If you cannot afford it - then your choices are limited, and you'll be a vegetarian by happenstance. Finishing lots should be banned, as should the majority of en masse quick growth meat production. In summary: nice farm tech, but enabling terrible farming practices.

Well said David W. But how it can change? Only it can change when people are you come in this field. If you feel something is wrong then you are the person who can fix it our people like you can so lead or find people like you and solve this problem.

I don't know where this is, but it's a million miles different than how I farm my sheep in Ireland. We are 100% forage (either grazed or saved as haylage). Our sheep are housed for a short period over the winter, purely to give the land a rest. Once they lamb There back outdoors on spring grass. We feed some additional minerals in thew form of bucket licks. We are fortunate to be in the best grass growing country in the world.

@@first100k3 Hi I currently have about 200. We are high up and have a lot of rain in the winter. The breed of sheep we keep are well adapted to the harsh conditions. I am 60yrs old & grew up on this farm, but moved away when I was 21. My brother ran the farm, but 20yrs ago he became ill & couldn't farm any more. My father then offered me the chance to farm & I moved back here in 2006. It's hard to make a profit from sheep so we are looking at bring a small breed of native cattle back & probably also outdoor hens. We try as far as possible, to farm without using chemical fertilisers & only treat animals where absolute necessary. We breed all our own animals so we only keep the strongest, these are naturally resistant to disease & are much easier managed.

@@hughmarcus1 you sound like a true farmer. Now a day farmers using everything or anything to get more profit. I think farmers are artists, givers, and great people who work so hard. I got so much respect for people like you. I m not Turkish, I don’t live in Turkey. I m from USA but I like farmers’s simple life and great attitude, even they don’t make much but still they love what they do and we people who live in big cities are always unhappy, tired, greedy for money and profit. I wish more people can understand to farmers like you and give more respect and make sure you guys get the most of profit. I would love to help good farmers.
