Rubix has grown so much, by the gods. He used to kinda copy his teachers, which makes sense. But now you can really start to see his own style and personality shine through, while still using all the elements he picked up from his mentors. Rubix & Kuty were by far the duo I enjoyed seeing the most this year, even if others might've had better rounds. Their progression is amazing to see!!!

I like bboys, my only issue is when they practically ignore the music. Neguin did a really good job of bboying to the music. Lilou did a pretty good job too and even killed it a couple of rounds.

I've tried several times breaking to different music than break beats. Controlling the move momentum when you're upsidedown to some really mainstream bubble gum beat is pretty hard. So i can't really blame them, but Neguin and Lilou actually danced here imo, they didn't just break. Most of their sets aren't their usual sets, these are about 90% freestyled (especially Neguin which just looked 100% freestyle), which was a breathe of fresh air to me. Actually surprised they still managed to hit basslines despite the music being waaay slower (bboy music is normally 120bpm upwards) than what they're used to. So to me, they did a really good job bboying to non-bboy music to show it to the crowd.

I don't expect them to beatkill like other styles, but I like ones like Bboy Junior vs Tight Eyez, Tonio vs Larry, and Neguin in this event really sticking to the music for their moves and mixing in some smaller movement to catch the beat. That's why I said they did a good job in this event and my comment is moreso about bboys in general that go to hip hop events.

This is the only thing that I’m frustrated on when it comes to the Tight Eyez incident. All of this beef for the event on behalf of TEz and some on behalf on the Twins.. it’s shaded out every AMAZING dancer that participated. All in all this event was amazing and I’d still go if I could. There was talent here for AGES. Where I live right now, we don’t even have any sort of dance get together, events, workshops.. there’s only a few hip hop classes that still have to share the same location with contemporary. An event like this needs to be uplifted because hip hop isn’t fully appreciated. Yes, that goes for Krump too, yes that goes for Boogaloo and Popping too. The bias argument is for a different comment but all in all this event was great.
