Wow! The 1904 elevator holds more than the new TK next to it! :)

I'm surprised the thing works, with the huge gaps between the doors, and floors. It IS a nice find!

I liked the camera on the floor shot! I noticed that you had the inspection switch in the "on" position. If the switch were in the "off" position would the lift self level at the floors? Would you go from momentary (deadman) control to automatic control? Lastly, would your speed increase? It seemed to be in inspection mode. On passenger cars the inspectors controls are on the car roof. You transfer control from the in-car controls to the inspector's car-top control via the inspector switch.

this is similar to the former Sofas and More. nice manual controls. an all wood elevator is a gem.

Classic for sure. Awesome machinery shot. You don't even need to see the cab shaking, you can HEAR it. That said, shame but I'm sure this has seen better days.

Very nice elevator Andrew how did you come across this beauty?
@KyFriedPlatypus9 жыл бұрын
I recall watching a documentary on the Travel Channel years back in which they showed a similar-looking Elevator at a furniture store that had to be manually operated by rope.
@upanddownadventures9 жыл бұрын
+KyFriedPlatypus Do you know which furniture store it was at?
@KyFriedPlatypus9 жыл бұрын
upanddownadventures I don't remember what it was called, but I remember them saying that it was one of the earliest elevators.

KyFriedPlatypus Do you know what the documentary was called, and what it was about (was it about elevators? was it about the furniture store? was it about historic buildings? was it about something else?)
