A fan of fast Fords? Or slow ones, for that matter? Either way, if you’re big into the Blue Oval, then you’ll be interested in Ford’s new Heritage and Innovation Centre in the UK.
Just finished, it houses more than 100 vehicles, from a Model T, through multiple GT40s and a million-pound Escort, to all the best Cossies and RS Fords. Recently relocated from Dagenham to Daventry, it also provides access to a library containing brochures, owners’ manuals and advertising materials from Ford’s UK history.

I visited the collection at Dagenham several times, but it was asked and everything was pushed into every corner, so looking at the cars was a real problem, so nice to see the collection having a proper home. The only downside was that we used to borrow cars for events and trackdays at Dunton. We just phoned them up and negotiated what we wanted. One year we had an Escort Mk1 and an RS200, quite a contrast to what we were making at the time.

Thanks, Tom and Top Gear! I've become much more of a Ford fan as I've grown older. As a U.S. native, many of these are familiar to me largely from British car TV (I'm sure you can imagine at least one show).

As an American i find it a struggle to fall in love with any of the big 3. You got the C8 and that new crazy fast mustang and Dodge makes shit cars. Not trying to argue but ,may i ask how?

I've had a Mk4 Ford Escort Eclipse driven 2 Transits, a Transit Connect for work and now own a Mk6 Fiesta Zetec (S Rep) now. Got to love a blue oval. ♥ Wonder if they can grab those Fords that are stored in that old dealership in Germany. Would be cool to have them along with their siblings in that Centre.

Very cool. I've always loved all (well most) of the UK and European fords. Those cosworth sierras and escorts are amazing. Hillarious to see the escort because in the US that was just a cheap commuter car. Wish we got the cosworth stuff here.

Supervan 2 and 3 are the same vehicle. It's a ford c100 chassis underneath originally with a Cosworth DFL then a Cosworth HB when it was updated to supervan 3. Now it runs that rather naff V6.

Growing up in a Ford family, all the vehicles we’ve owned (besides me I’m the black sheep) have been Fords. I still own a Ford truck but I work for Toyota so I also own a Corolla. But, I’ll always be a Ford fanboy. 🤙🏼 I love this collection.

This brought up a fantastic memory from the last year when I acted in a play called 'Made In Dagenham' based on then-Ford production, the political issue of gender pay disparity during those times & a plot of launching Cortina (the then-new car) in the British market.
