Makes all the difference in the world working with your best friend. She's stealing the show. I love that she's a smart ass and not all up tight. The way you two banter back and forth is hilarious. Love the new addition to the woodyard. Keep up the great camera angles. We all appreciate that 😉.

@hardworkingmanoutdoors
@hardworkingmanoutdoors Жыл бұрын
Thank you. Believe me, I didn’t get any of this handed to me, it has taken a lot of years of hard work and long hours to get where we are. Though we didn’t have much growing up my dad taught me about hard work etc. I bought my first bike by collecting pop cans and earned every dime. The equipment I have now I acquired much the same way, long hours, lots of overtime, side jobs, buying and selling stuff etc. It definitely can be done. I was able to get a good job after being in the military and proving myself through hard work and dedication. Growing up with my dad as a mechanic and my mom a waitress we definitely didn’t have any of this. But I am extremely grateful that they taught me how to work for what you want. Too many people have stuff handed to them these days and then expect it. We are doing our best to teach our kids to work for what you want from sports, school, life etc. We have definitely been blessed but definitely not spoiled. It may sound crazy but I’d rather have that 86 mower and trailer that I earned than to have what I have given to me. I feel when you work for something you definitely appreciate it more than if it is handed to you. Hope this makes sense, keep grinding and be proud of what you work for!

I have an additional observation to make if I may. Seems to me the objective is to touch the wood as few times as possible before it passes through the splitting wedge. If you have to stack it into the tractor bucket by hand, why not just park the bucket at about waist height on the operator side and transfer the rounds from it to the splitter with one simple lift and turn motion. Any excessively large rounds could be raised from the ground by the log lift. The table is a game changer if it doesn't require too much labor to load and a lot of reach and pull to bring rounds over from the far side. Just my observations and thoughts. I know you are still analyzing all the motions required to make this table be as efficient as possible. I'm enjoying the videos.
@hardworkingmanoutdoors
@hardworkingmanoutdoors Жыл бұрын
Ron, we process wood a lot of different ways. Stacking the wood in the bucket for this video was to attempt to dump an entire 1/3rd of a cord at once which didn’t really work lol. The table vs putting the bucket on operator side is something we will show in a future video. Advantages of the table would be you just roll the round down to splitter effortlessly, bucket you have to pick up, and turn repeatedly which is hard on the back. Also if 2 or more people are working together it also allows the tractor to be used while the operator is splitting off the table. Either getting another load, moving Ibc totes, catching the splits etc. If you have a large pile of rounds you can simply scoop and dump also. We will do more comparison videos in the future. Always appreciate feedback, thank you.

@@hardworkingmanoutdoors You bet. I knew you were figuring these things out. I might mention that, at 71, I do so many things differently than I did 5 years ago. HA! Freeing up the tractor to be doing something else really makes sense. Thannks for the reply!

That's a cool piece of equipment! Beats picking it up off of the ground or from the back of a pickup.

Very nice addition, I'm wondering if the log lift can be used to shake the table down towards the pusher plate?

I wouldn't try that, I don't think it'd work like you'd need it to. This table is HUGE. The hookaroon is your best bet. Thanks for watching!

Mama Clause was tearing it up. That table makes a huge difference in speed. If you can use that table with other splitters that would be awesome. Merry Christmas to both of you.

Keith, I hadn’t either, John from FrickNJeep uses a large steel flat table and that’s where the idea originated for me. I then thought of how I’d like to adapt it to me. Then Bobby from All Wood knocked it out of the park with the design and build!

Nice work table. I'm wondering if you have that table angled towards you 🤔 so as it self feeds the splitter? I've been using a plastic pallet makeshift table. The idea works but like you said, it's a marry-go-round 🤣😂.
