Lake George was our family vacation every year when I was a kid through the 70s and I've been going to the House of Frankenstein since I'm around 4 years old or so. It is one of my favorite places on Earth!

I haven't been since I was in my early 20s but we used to go as kids w our grandma every summer. Do you remember the Goony Golf Course with the Haunted Castle and arcade that was on the way out towards all the theme parks? That was my favorite and I found out they took out the haunted castle part a few years back and I can't find anything about it on the Internet anymore. Im sad there aren't videos on KZbin at least. A part of my childhood is gone LOL I loved that place as a kid. This one always scared me too much 😂

The castle part was gone during my visit in August 2004. The Dr. Morbid's Haunted House also closed a few years ago, it was affiliated with House of Frankenstein. HoF is the only haunted attraction left in Lake George. And Alien Encounter closed as well. I went through all three in August 2004. It was my only time in Lake George, I'm from eastern PA. I went through other haunted attractions and dark rides in my lifetime that no longer exist because they burned down or were torn down. I went through all the haunted attractions in Niagara Falls, ON in July 2006. But, the Alien Encounter there had closed a year before and was a motorcycle museum that is now gone. There is also a House of Frankenstein in Niagara Falls that looks different than the Lake George one and has a few live actors. I missed the Haunted House of Wax on the NY state side though.

I’ve been going to lake George since I was a baby and the house of Frankenstein is one of my favorite parts of the town. When I was a kid I was scared of it but also fascinated with it. At this point I’ve been in it so many times that it doesn’t scare me at all, it just gives me peace and nostalgia. I still remember the smell of that place, love it!

I remember someone in a Frankenstein outfit would lumber around the front and pose for photos. This place is great.

They still have a guy in the outfit! It's just as much a part of the place as the museum itself and I am so happy that they never did away with that part of it.

I was just here! I love this museum. The bodybag scene ALWAYS scares me, even knowing it's coming. This year, when I got to that point, I said, "Okay, jumpscare in 3-2-1!" then I walked in and nothing happened...until I was halfway through and it scared the bejesus out of me. Still, this museum is awesome.

@@lax22_ Last time I went to the museum, the jumpscare in the Freddy vs. Jason scene wasn't working. I kept expecting it to jumpscare me, duping me into thinking it was broken, but nothing happened. When it does work though, it is pretty scary, but no scare in that whole museum compares to that damn bodybag scene I commented about a year ago.

Does anyone remember the Goony Golf course in Lake George that was on the way towards Great Escape and all the other little theme parks? Its a mini golf course w an arcade and a haunted castle. Or at least it was, I just found out they removed the haunted castle part a few years back 💔 ive been trying to find video or pictures online but i cant find anything. I have a few pics from a disposable camera from when i was last there in my early 20s but i would love to find some video of the place

I first went to this museum in the late 1970s or early 1980s as a kid. I returned again just before Covid lockdown. Was it my imagination or had they revamped the werewolf exhibit? My siblings told me the exhibit originally had a werewolf walking up behind a little girl sitting on a table playing building blocks, now they had the werewolf reaching in from a window.
