I might be weird but I find it quite relaxing and interesting to watch train journeys 😀 I used to teach children, so of course I was off when the children were or the weekends when I wasn’t doing work. So I only saw shopping malls, trains, stations etc when they were packed. When I stopped teaching it was a revelation, especially because I didn’t need to go anywhere at peak times very often. Monday 2 pm a train journey for a couple of hours was very pleasant. Instead of finishing work, rush to the train station, get on really busy, loud trains. Bliss! I don’t mind the noise of children, but I think it’s the sheer volume of people. The first time I went to the shopping mall in the next city, it was like a ghost town 😂

I went to Japan last year before the pandemic hit, and my son who lives there, took me to this mall. I saw that food court and I remember feeling overwhelmed as a North american. Thanks once again guys for a great video. I could almost hear a sigh of contentment from Satoshi as he took his first sip of beer. Oddly enough, I had Japanese food tonight. A place here in Toronto that is one of the few Japanese restaurants actually owned and run by Japanese people. A nice family who have been there since 1972. I had Ebi Okonomi and Chicken Teriyaki. All made to order there, was so good. May I ask a question? I have seen omurice a few times on videos from Japan, and it is something I want to try when I go there next year. (The pandemic hopefully being contained by then). I am not a fan of ketchup or demi glace, is it considered rude to ask for it without any sauce or ketchup? Will they think I'm a pig ignorant Gaijin for that? Thanks for your time, and for all the content you upload. I feel the most valuable thing any person has is time, because we get a finite amount and no one gets any extra. Any time I have invested watching you both has been time well invested indeed, so thank you. Lastly, as a PFLAG parent I want to say I am proud of both of you for living your lives genuinely and on your terms. The more people who do that, the better off we are. Peace from Toronto, Canada.

Thank you for your kind words. Truly appreciate it. We have a dish called Chicken Rice which is basically the same thing but without the added ketchup or Demi glacé sauce. You might like that. However the chicken rice is seasoned with ketchup so not sure how you would like that. In that case Yoshoku restaurants usually serve a rice dish called pilaf, which is similar but not seasoned with ketchup. You might like that more.
