Happy Friday BEAT family! I'm so excited about this video. I know many people are reading through the Bible chronologically with me and thousands of others in our community (allenparr.com/biblechallenge). It's still not too late to join! As we do, we are actually in the book of Job (Job lived before Abraham). This exciting brief, but detailed, overview will provide a solid framework for the entire book of Job. I tried something new in this video with my setup. Let me know below whether you like it or not and whether you found this way of learning helpful. Enjoy!

I love the overview of Job. Never realized how early Job existed. Makes me wonder as I go through the Bible chronologically how far Job's story traveled during that time. Makes me wonder about the Exodus and the Hebrews' distrust and "forgetfulness" after crossing the Red Sea.

Hey Allen awesome beautiful teaching but 1 thing I have a view on the last part, Job never lost his children.. you can’t lose what not lost, his 10 children did die but at the end he did get double because after he died he was with his other children, and did Job know that he defeated the devil that day? Because after job you don’t hear anything else from the devil until the New Testament

I really enjoyed hearing a different perspective about his wife. She is judged very often but we tend to forget what she has been through as a mom losing not just one of her children but all of them in a tragic way. It helps us empathize with her a bit and allows us to see what is happening has also affected her life too.

Amen. I love the sheer amount of Copium Chrisitans nowadays I mean, it's obviously so hard to grow up in the Internet-Age and blending-out every Squaremeter of Reality yelling 'HEY, DIDCHA KNOW SCIENCE DEBUNKED THE BIBLE?' People cope differently with the objective fact that it's objectively proven that countless different Things in the Bible literally never happened, but dont worry, that's what Copium is for. The Flood never happened, Evolution is proven so prove-tastic that it's literally taught in Schools, ect, ect, ect, ect and super-ect. BUT DONT WORRY, this 'SOMEHOW' DOESNT MEAN the Bible is B.S!! 'Its actually not a Contradiction, look, we just have to do 25 little Twists and blink-unhealthily and it suddenly looks Right!" is one way. But just in general: The sheer amount of Excuses being made-up is awe-inspiring. Excuses is all you have, my Dear Jesus-Followers. Unfortunately, this doesnt always work: In fact, the Internet-Age (the Ability to now find facts easy) has led to countless People leaving Faith. And OH JOLLY, even if we ignore thos that legit say 'Awww, it's that damn pop-music! Those rapper's songs!! They spread Atheism!", even IF you dont say THAT, you still need Copium and Excduses and Coping... You need to keep going, my brothers and sisters in christ! YOU NEED to avoid thinking why truth and facts literally make people leave your Group! DONT THINK TOO MUCH ABOUT IT!!! Amen. Of course we know why Crime happens and what it does, but let's blame the Devil to avoid having to study Social Issues and such! Amen.

Thank you for this breakdown. 2 years ago when I lost my second daughter at 11mo, after being rebellious, the book of Job helped me come back to God. I remember one of my 'friends' saying that perhaps her death was a lesson God was trying to teach me. What a statement! Looking back, as much as I felt as if God wasn't with us then, I realise that he was with us every step of the way. We are in a much better place as a family. God bless your ministry

This last month has been rough for my family. My dad had a seizure for the first time in his life, then learned that it was due to a tumor on his brain, then after removing the mass of the tumor learned it was cancerous and spreading, then learned that it was a special case because it was spreading to both sides of the brain, then learned the cancer itself was in the brain tissue, and then they said he might’ve had it for ten years. With all that I wanted to break and just completely give up and turn from God. But a part of me realized there is no hope leaving God. So I decided to change some things in my life listening to a lot of worship music, reading the Bible everyday, praying, and really taking time for God to grow in me. I didn’t realize how much I needed God until recently, and I’ve never been more heartbroken and joyful at the same time. Through the support of family and friends it really helped me.

It’s about testing the peoples faith in God. I had my Book of Job moment. A member from my Church molested my nine year old daughter by shoving a cross in her vagina. It was because God knew how much I put my kids first. It was a test whether I would call the police and trust in man or trust God, forgive and pray like Jesus. Vengeance is for God only not the police. I called the police instead and now was removed from my church. My daughter and I are condemned to hell. I later became an Atheist.

I think this was an excellent presentation of the book of Job, a book that gave me the chills as a child like a horror story. Now I can truly appreciate its hidden revelations and wisdom. Job is awesome. It represents the ultimate test of our faith and forces our heart to examine whether it loves God enough to say and mean: “Though He slay me, yet will I put my trust in Him!”. For some it may take a lifetime to get to this point. Honestly, only the Holy Spirit could possibly get us out of our fleshly interests and fully embrace any and everything God decides to dish us. Only Jesus can inspire us to take a bitter cup like that of Job and conclude: “Nevertheless not my will, but Yours be done!”.

You are teaching that God goes around testing people by allowing sickness to disasters. We have learned a lot since the old preachers and bible school teachings of Job. Job was not tested by God. Do you really understand the rights of the devil in this world; that God had to legally allow the Devil TO ATTACK . Jobs fear (JOBS FEAR OR negative BELIEVEING). Now today It is a lot harder for the devil to bring this kind of destruction because of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. [Job 9:33 KJV] 33 Neither is there any daysman betwixt us, [that] might lay his hand upon us both. Job figured out his broken hedged that allow Satan in. The answer is in Chapter 3. I just dropped this in a few replies to Allien

Thank you for putting this together. My youngest son was having seizures the exact time my mother was in hospice and passing away. My sons seizures have been getting worse, and I often times cry out to God to please help and heal my baby boy, but I often feel like God does not hear my prayer. I remind myself of the father who asked Jesus to heal His boy when he said “I believe, but help my unbelief”. Gods timing and our timing do not align, and I continue to pray that my son will be healed and we can use this experience as a testimony.

I believe God used those experiences to humble Job. Although Job was a devoted man, he was arrogant. He rattles off all his goodness and even challenges God. That is why God asks him those questions that he could not answer and "humiliates" him. Once Job realized he was no match for God, he piped down and humbled himself. I also believe that it was God's plan plan to bless Job with even more wealth. But the old Job was not spiritually mature enough to handle the increase. So God used these trials to humble him and prepare him spiritually for the next level God had in store for him. Pastor Allen we love you so much! Thank you for all your hard work in putting together these videos. They really make us think hard about what it means to be a Christian.

I'm reading through the Bible and had just read through Job for the first time. It was a difficult read for me as I didn't understand why God allowed all to happen to Job as He did but I just kept reading knowing that there's 'Much' I don't and won't understand and forced myself to not get hung up on it. Fast forward a few weeks and this is in my inbox...a coincidence, no I think not! Thank you for this extremely well done overview of Job. This truly explains much.
