I built this machine with a very professional detail and I inserted inside it a switching power supply and a step down regulator for regulating the power. Very nice project, as usual ) But you have to bear in mind that ANGLE you set is WRONG. It's simple. The point of the lower nichrome thread attachment does not coincide with the axis of rotation of the upper lever. This means that the angle of the thread will always be LESS than the angle setted - there is a triangle.

Not sure you are correct about this. The angle is correct , it would always be correct the way he has it designed. The fulcrum of adjustable head, and the where the wire comes out of the actual base are different, but that doesn’t affect the angle. Or am I missing some?

There’s a couple of ways to visualise how/why it’s wrong, but the easiest to explain is probably this: Imagine if his degree range went all the way to 90° (which would technically by 0°, except he is measuring number of degrees *from perpendicular* rather than straight degrees, but we’ll say 90° for ease of explanation). A 90° cut *should* be completely *parallel* to the bed (I.e. flat, & not cutting anything off of a piece of foam, except ~1 wire width). Because the fulcrum is above the level of the bed here, if this were set to 90° you wouldn’t be reaching the bed with the top of the wire, you’d only be reaching parallel to the fulcrum (I.e. ~1cm above the bed), which means you would be at a sharp acute angle to the bed (and therefore *not* at 90° like it says) Hopefully that makes sense; if not, and you have pen & paper, another way to visualise it would be this: Put an x and y axis on a piece of graph paper. A 45° angle *should* line up with (x1,y1), (x2,y2) etc. (I.e. x=y) Now imagine that instead of lining your protractor up w/ the intersection of the x and y axis, you slide it up 5 squares & mark your 45° angle from there instead. Suddenly you’ve got points along that line that look like this instead: (x1,y6), (x2,y7), I.e. x+5=y. Now draw the line plotting x+5=y from (0,0) which is where the wire enters the bed You’ll see that slope is greater and that the angle is not 45°. If he’d measured the foam @ 19:18 with anything, you’d see it’d be off by a few degrees. Hopefully that makes sense 😅

I found it's a very professional looking tool, well-designed. Thank you for all the tips you gave in this video. However, the angle of cut is actually different that what you set. The axis of rotation is a bit higher than the low attachment point of the wire.

Nicely done. but, your wire is heating the bottom guide screw. I suggest using a ceramic bead with a 1mm hole instead of the threaded insert and screw. It can be secured with high-temp epoxy. The ceramic is a good electrical and thermal insulator.

Ciao, complimenti per la realizzazione. Lavori davvero bene e molto pulito. Ti consiglierei solamente di posizionare il rocchetto avvolgi filo sotto la struttura e la molla tensionatrice sopra l'archetto. In questo modo e' piu' facile e veloce sganciare il filo per realizzare tagli interni . Ammiro i tuoi lavori.

Complimenti, i tuoi lavori hanno dei "risultati finali" che hanno l'apparenza sempre più professionale che hobbystica :) L'unico dubbio che mi rimane su questo progetto è la "precisione" degli angoli di inclinazione: essendo il fulcro della barra che si "piega" più in alto di qualche centimentro rispetto al fulcro del filo che esce dal piano, gli angoli dovrebbero essere falsati. Ne hai tenuto conto quando li hai "disegnati" sul piastrino di riferimento o lo sfasamento è talmente basso che su tagli di polistirene risultano irrilevanti?

Ti ringrazio :-) in effetti non potrà mai essere un vero angolo a 45 se il fulcro non è a livello del piano. Ci sono differenze di gradi, questo è scontato, ma a fini pratici non è rilevante. Per avere più precisione, basta togliere lo spessore di legno e mettere un profilato angolare piu alto. Comunque sto lavorando a quella CNC a controllo numerico, è piu figa :-)

a really nice builmd, I have never seen some homemade wire cutters so well engineered. just a little thing, you let the power go through the spring, in how to mechatronics video abaout a cnc wire cutter, he did it in the first place but because of the heat, the steel changed it structure and the spring hardened becoming completely useless, you should try applying the power downstream the spring to ensure the machine's longevity

Ricordo che il primissimo video che vidi qui sul tuo canale, fu quello sul bromografo.. riempii una lista di cose da comprare su amazon ma poi mancava sempre qualcosa e posticipai l'idea (prima o poi lo farò) però venne un giorno che decisi di replicare la lampada portatile a 4000 lumen e allora mi misi di tenacia e la feci! certo non avevo trovato una plafoniera simile a quella che usasti nel video e mi accontentai di una vaschetta di gelato xD però l'ho anche usata qualche estate fa. poi andai con le mie gambe e mi decidetti di possedere una tavoletta grafica tipo come le Wacom ma non avevo tutti quei soldi e allora anche in quel caso decisi di costruirmela da solo. Ormai mi avevi contagiato con questa mania di far da me e riuscii anche in quest'impresa. E adesso produco stampanti 3D sia a resina che a estrusore ma anche cnc laser e a fresa. Adesso mi sto cimentando in qualcosa che è sia semplice che ecosostenibile e anche economico. sto cercando di costruire una macchina che tritura la plastica, la fonde e la trasforma in filamento per stampanti 3D. ovvio che esistono già in commercio ma proprio non capisco perché devo regalar loro tutti quei soldi se il solo costo dei materiali è di meno di 100 euro. poi se avete una breadboard e non volete saldare è ancora meglio. ho acquistato buona parte dell'occorrente, sto aspettando che arriva.. piano piano daniele replicherò anche altri tuoi progetti. ti lascio un like ma anche un Grazie infinite per avermi insegnato e fatto apprezzare questa meravigliosa mania del fai da te. :)
