Amazing public course near downtown Toronto! | Lakeview Golf Course 10-hole vlog

Hello friends, I had the pleasure of playing the first 10 holes on the Lakeview Golf Course.
The course is under maintenance until end of August 2022. In the main time, you can play 10 holes for just $25!! I could not pass up the opportunity to try this course. Consider this video a trial run for when I eventually come back to play a full 18. Lakeview Golf Course is a regulation course with long par 4s and 5s. It is a perfect balance if you are looking for a golf course that is challenging but not too difficult. Enjoy the video!

I played Silver Lakes yesterday and its an absolutely gorgeous course. Challenging but decent scoring opportunities.

Thanks for the hint about fixing ball marks on the green. So many folks not doing so on all levels of courses I have played this year. I actually say a coyote there back in Sept 2021. Quite a challenging course for a muni.

I have noticed as well 😅 ball markers and scuff marks on greens. this course is more challenging, which i like actually. A cayote, that's so cool! Maybe because there's been less people on the courses the past 2 years, more animals came out to play

Hope you enjoyed the course! Definitely is one of my top courses in the GTA for its value at $25 for 10 (for length and overall ambiance). It was cool to see that eagle in the video. Looking forward to seeing you hit an eagle on camera one day! If you do end up playing the full 18, if the prices remain the same, it will be like Don valley where they charge around 80 (90 ish after tax if you don't play twilight) a round which is pretty average (a little high imo) for 18 so I don't really play there as often as I do now with the $25 rate. I usually end up finding cheaper courses further southwest like Mount Nemo (very scenic and challenging since it's on the Niagra escarpment) and Crosswinds (They has a signature island par 3) which are around the same price and I find to be a slightly better experience (not saying Lakeview is bad in any way) Courses like Mount Nemo might be a little too far west for you since I notice you are closer to the downtown core. I find the back 9 in Lakeview to be a little less flat with more water and doglegs holes compared to the straight flat shots you experienced in the front 9 when you played. It is well worth trying the 18 if you enjoyed the 9!

Thanks! I've had a few eagles but they're few and far between haha! Thanks for the course suggestions. I have noticed that once you leave the GTA , golf courses are cheaper for the same or better quality. I am thinking about heading out to Niagara for a few rounds. For $25, it was very worth it to check out Lakeview. I really hope the price doesn't go up too much once 18 opens 🤞

@@GolfwithShan Yeah Niagara has some nice options and the course can be cheaper with the same or better quality as long as you go off-peak days. Legends of Niagara has that high end golf club feel (good tee boxes and good maintenance/layout with a nice clubhouse and driving range) and is a fair price if you are going to that area and is the pretty mainstream championship style. Twilight and off-peak days usually have good rates. Grand Niagra is nice too but a little expensive and I feel like Legends of Niagra is just as good as Grand Niagra but cheaper. Avoid courses like Whirlpool which have nice layouts and good prices but are poorly maintained. There is also a nice lesser-known 9-hole course called Niagara on the lake golf course which is not as long but has some nice holes along the coast of lake Ontario. (It is NOT a par 3 course though). It's good if you don’t want to golf all day and want to squeeze a little golf in your Niagra falls day trip rather than golfing all day. It can be beautiful if you time ur tee off time at sunset. You can browse the small town shops near the course after or before if you want as well. If you want to live it up a little more and are willing to drive, I’m sure you have heard about this course called TPC Toronto Osprey Valley which has two full 18 hole courses I believe. It's a little over 100 but probably one of the best courses in the GTA. It has amazing ratings and feedback. It rivals a lot of the high-end public courses like Eagles nest, Copper Creek and Angus Glen. If you are willing to splurge one day out of all the courses you can pay 100+ dollars for ( ie. Glen Abbey, Richmond Hill, Lionhead, Woodbine, Nobleton Lakes to name a few) TPC Osprey is the one you want to go to hands down. Osprey is the best course imo you can go to if you want to invest that 45+ minute drive up north compared to courses like Ballantrae and Silver Lakes which are both nice public courses as well. If you are looking for another cheaper city course I would have recommended peel village which you can get 9 holes for 17 dollars as a hot deal on golf now and 23 ish dollars as a regular rate. It is a beautiful course for what you are paying for and it's a great way to feed that golf addiction. It has many par 4 and 5’s and has good yardages for a 9 hole course and great conditions and layout for the price. I only didn’t recommend it earlier because I think it is a little far for you since it is in Brampton and the distance doesn’t justify the value in your case. If you are going to drive that far west might as well play a nicer 18-hole course in Burlington or Milton thats on the Niagra escarpment. Imo Peel Village is much better than Centennial, not only in terms of length but just overall experience and value. I feel like Centennial getting a little high charging 28 for 9 holes where you only have 1 or 2 par 4's but I guess location is a premium. I hope this helps. Yes! It was the special deal for 10 holes while the golf course is under maintenance. The full 18 course should open up soon and price will go back to normal
