Today, Somewhere on Earth is off to discover the Sultanate of Oman in the south of the Arabian Peninsula. This is the Orient of The Thousand and One Nights, which the Romans called Arabia Felix, Blessed Arabia. It’s also the land of the once nomadic Bedouins. Bedu in Arabic means desert dweller. Mossin devotes most of his time to the protection of the frankincense tree. Saïd lives his life according to the seasons of his date palms. Ahmed is an arif, a water master, and a guardian of knowledge 2:33

I admire each and every Bedouin who carried on traditions of their ancestors to live the way they lived. The irrigation and agriculture system was absolutely STUNNING to see. Only ever read about them in history books but never seen them operated. Brilliant documenting!

In many ways, I’m jealous of those desert nomads. I know their life is difficult beyond my soft modern life could understand. But to have such clear purpose in life. I don’t think too many of them have anxiety or depression.

May God bless all these pure souls and continue to protect and preserve their unadulterated lifestyles. Side from the narrator killing the pronounciation of so many proper and common nouns (the waterways are simply called Falaj!), this was a beautiful documentary of the rarely seen side of Oman, a wonderful country.
