It is a really beautiful interpretation of the sound of nature that for sure. The harmonisation of pentatonic scales can lead to really beautiful harmonic structures and overtones. Also the triad based western music, using 7 ton scales, has some really beautiful voice leadings, dissonances and resting points. The pentatonic scales used in ethiopa for 3000 years also seem to be really well put together. In my mind there is a future of music that combines the knowledge of all these ideas and music theories to a new musical universe, based on the fundamental ideas of the various concepts. so we are united in one language someday

What a sublime, uplifting raga. I usually listen to instrumental raga but this vocal is absolutely mesmerising. What a HEAVENLY voice this woman sings!!! I don't understand a word she is saying but Indian music have always mesmerized me since childhood when i used to watch Amitab Bachchan films. What a beautiful blend of strings & drums laced with sweet voices. This music is peaceful reflection for me deeply penetrating emotions of love, sadness, sympathy..... I notice how the style is found across that region India, Arabia and even to the far East Chinese monk music somewhat resemble to me. Please someone help me understand why this unique to that part of the world? did this music develop out of spiritualism, meditation, out of bliss or misery or all of the above? Akari - It's amazing how you gleaned so much through listening. This music originated from temples in India. Legend says that it was created by Lord Shiva and handed over to humans. This is why all musicians worship Shiva's form as a Nataraja (the cosmic dancer). Bharat muni formalized the grammar (Shastra) around this music. The earlier forms of this music sung in temples was called Dhrupad. However, post invasions, music moved on from temples to King's courts, other forms were developed e.g. Khayal (Interpretation), Tappa, Thumri etc. The current form (even though Dhrupad remains) is the amalgamated form of music that you hear, hence the similarities. Hope this helps.

all indian music and dance forms originated from Tamil and Tamil Nadu......pann came to be called raagaa....paanar referred as Kandharva ......'chathir aattam' is called 'Baratha Natya'.......there came various adaptations.....even the famed Thyagaiyya was born brought up, taught and learned in Tamil Nadu. He learned from the temple musicians of Thiruvarur, Tanjore district, Tamil Nadu.

It depends on which kind of music you are more habituated to. I find hundustani music more subtle ,stable and peaceful than carnatic which has so much vibrations. Its matter of conditioning. She is greate singer. One of the most promising voices of her generation.

Don't worry about them. If they don't understand music, then we can always teach it to them and tell/show them that music is an important form of art that enhances us to connect with the audience. Being a singer myself, I may not be as good as Kaushiki-Ji but I still understand the music that's performed today and I love sharing my voice with the audience as much as Kaushiki-Ji does. It may be different from the 17 people who disliked the video became they're close-minded and have no interest in understanding that music is a helpful art form that we love listening/performing. It's okay. Don't worry about them. They will eventually learn their lesson in the end. Love and hugs!! 💖😊
