Great song, great band and a great reaction! Grai is pronounced gr-eye or like rye bread with a hard g sound in front. The name translates as the cry of birds, like crows and ravens. Mara is the spirit of winter and death. This video is allegorical. The band is from central Russia from Tatarstan.

I've been into them for a year or so. Even though I can't understand the vocals, they are great along with the very heavy metal playing. This song was the one that introduced me to Grai on KZbin, when I was watching another Russian metal group who used canned keyboards. The musicianship of Grai is superb.

This is very good. It reminds me of a Russian band named Arkona, except not as heavy. Arkona's vocalist (Masha "Scream") can also growl but not like Tatiana from Jinjer. She could not sleep and it had knocked on her window. It took her beloved away from her. It ruined her soul. The fierce winter took her to the arms of Mara.
