AMAZING Secrets/Details That You MISSED In The FF7 Rebirth DEMO! - EASTER EGGS/REFERENCES!

This is just the prologue of the game and look how many call-backs and references there are, cannot imagine how many more in the full game! Let me know any that you think I may have missed, Nibelheim is quite big so I most likely have. I made a small 'thank you' message to the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Development Team as they don't get enough credit.

Yes I am aware, it's just certain interactions and scenes of said trooper can easily be missed especially with the short screen time he has. This just highlights all of those moments. It's also very cool to see Cloud act different and speak like a younger self which we don't really see much in the original.

Besides the Zack connection, I believe Sephiroth calling Zack/Cloud “Puppy” (especially with the JENOVA theme) is a play on him later calling people a “Puppet.”

@@haileeraestout5567 no are you talking about the bridge scene? That was the other unknown officer that was alongside them who supposedly died....feel bad we don't get his name lol. Cloud was the second officer along with them (there were 2 troopers to begin with, then Zack and sephiroth)

I took that line as a reference to SOLDIERS being thought of as Shinra "lap/guard dogs" as mentioned by Barret at the beginning of Remake. Calling Zack/Cloud a "puppy" is just Sephiroth mocking his youthful excitement to being put in such dangerous situations.

Some additional fun things. The trooper that is Cloud will change voice in a very specific interaction where he then has Zack's voice -- and says a line from crisis core. (In fact you did showcase that but didn't mention it being Zack's voice.) When interacting with people, some will say they didn't recognize you because of the uniform or some other reason -- with hair like that it'd be impossible not to recognize him...but if he had a helmet on. One random NPC kinda specifically mentions that he likes your helmet. Another asks how you got your *black* hair to be so spikey. Interesting little things. Tifa never says a name when speaking with Cloud. In Rebirth, you climb up the mountain but the walk back is skipped. In Crisis Core, the climb up is skipped, but you play the walk down the mountain. There's chocobo cowboys. And a bar ad inside Tifa's room. The original 7th heaven had saloon doors, and some cowboy themed stuff on the exterior. Jenova takes control of Sephiroth. In Crisis Core, Genesis and Angeal both complain of being told to do things. Sephiroth gets flashes, headaches, etc. But in his lowest moment... his shadow is positioned behind and above him, so his hand motion appears to be 'grabbing the Cross Brace of a puppet'. Sephiroth makes his decree that he should go, and we get multiple flashes of Jenova superimposed on Sephiroth. From that moment on in the scene, we can see that Sephiroth is exhibiting some serious uncanny vibes / Alfred Hitchcock quality "possessed people" thousand yard stare. All combat skills are dropped in favor of...poke or mindlessly move the blade like a tentacle.

Ooh that's some very interesting connections I missed thanks! Just wild how many throwbacks there are and it's only the demo and probably the start of the game. And I like the Zack going down Mt.Nibel connection, maybe it's also to hide genesis involvement that he has in crisis core as we don't know if he's going to be a canon character (mostlikey is)

@@KuroFF7 As it happens, going down the mountain, Cloud spends that time being carried by Tifa. But speaking of Genesis.. some notes. There's a source to what is very clearly the lightning spell... Someone cast it to break the bridge. The line "the world will be saved but will you" is written with the "you" pronoun that Genesis uses to talk to Zack in Japanese. Rebirth logo animation is Genesis 's limit break. Yuffie dlc was called intermission, an break in the play. Dirge Genesis said that they had to prepare for the final act, which is another section of a play. Minerva may be depicted in the remake mural, and the face of the ancient woman happens to be very similar to both the mural woman/Minerva. The materia fashioned by that woman is the proto materia from the OG ending, as well as from Before Crisis in summoning the Zirconiade, which happens to be slain 2 weeks after Zack...uh, fails to die now? The Zirconiade also triggers Jade Weapon to take flight, which is slain the day of the reactor bombing. And that happens 3 days late compared to OG, according to remake world preview which says it is December 12th -- in every timeline of events before it happened December 9th. There's a lot going on under the hood. Although the biggest thing is that we seem to be going back to Hoshi rather than Gaia, the Japanese name for the planet. Hoshi literally means Star. Bugenhagen refers to the planet in a trailer as "Our Star."

Although the greatest thing so many people have missed, is in remake, Sephiroth paraphrased Loveless 3 times! The first one being within his third or fourth sentence on screen, "Our beloved planet is dying. Slowly. Painfully. Silently. Can you stand to see the planet suffer?" A couple words off, but that's said by Genesis to Zack while quoting Loveless.

While I accepted this change and doubt they will go and change it now, but I definitely prefer the old zacks voice. He sounded so much more badass.
