The shots of the Celestials. It's so beautiful, epic, you can feel how powerful they are. How enormous these beings are. Ben Davis has shot many MCU films and it was a flat work however here with Zhao vision it feels epic. It's the best cinematography in the MCU in a long time.

man the hate this movie gets I don't understand. I loved it and consider it top-tier marvel, different and beautiful. I hope feige allows these movies to be shot with more practical sets like eternals but because of the reception I am afraid he will stick to an overuse of green screen as he does of late. I loved Spider-man no way home but the blend of cgi was horrendous in comparison to how it was in eternals. Eternals has been the first movie since phase 2 to me where the cgi has been near perfect. Since phase 3 came along its been hit or miss

Yeah I don't get the hate it get . Eternals is easily top 2 on my fav mcu film (the 1st being infinity war) . Personally The screenplay , while it did have some issue , it nailed what Chloe wanted "What is it like to be human" and it shows how humanity grow but also how humanity can be a double edge sword . The visual is easily the best one that mcu has put out yet . MCU should take notes because while Eternals may have some flaws , it was still a beautiful movie both from story and visual standpoint .

Alright let's settle this. Let me address to the people who think this movie looks "cheap looking". Watch every single MCU movie again and tell me, you really think this movie's cinematography is terrible? The visuals were stunning, arguably the best in an MCU movie. This movie had great shots, visuals, looked as high quality as something like Dune. I really want to know at what part of the film looked "cheap" because it didn't. Not a lot of CGI was used as they were shot in real locations, which makes it more beautiful to look at. Now obviously if a film is judged based on visuals and cinematography then you'll end up with a film like Rise Of Skywalker. I'm just saying that this movie was definitely no where close to cheap looking. Now the people who say this movie was "boring", it wasn't. Yes it is very slow paced compared to every other MCU movie, but any person who doesn't have an attention span of a 2 year old or craves for non stop action sequences for 2hr37 min is able to sit through this. This is the first movie of the franchise, if you're comparing this to other starting films in MCU trilogies this is definitely a great one. Sure, it does not beat Spiderman: Homecoming, but it was far more enjoyable than Captain America: The First Avenger, Iron Man and Thor. Don't get me wrong, you got films afterwards in their trilogies like Iron Man 3, Winter Soldier, Civil War, Far From Home, No Way Home, Thor: Ragnarok that are insanely good. I'm saying for the first movie in this franchise it is far more enjoyable to watch. If you only watch action movies then yeah this will probably appear "boring" to you, but the flashback scenes I thought were all necessary and amazing to look at with the different time periods. I agree this movie structurally isn't that solid, and the plot was kind of all over the place. The main part of the film was about the Eternals getting back together and then stopping the birth of a celestial. Ikaris's betrayal and the Deviants were just sideline problems that were presented to the Eternals. With more time or if they split the movie into two parts, the film could've been executed even better. Maybe first movie could be Eternals and their back story with fighting off Deviants, and then the second movie could be about stopping the Emergence. If you actually watched this with an open mind, instead of crying about a 2 second gay kiss, or the fact that the Avengers aren't in this, or the fact that the cast is so diverse, or the fact that it's not your typical good guys win bad guys lose story, you'll probably find this movie average at best. You're all saying like it's the "worst" movie ever made but if you've seen, just as an example, something like He's All That, Eternals looks like an Oscar winning film. This was not your typical MCU film as it did not follow the normal formula. This film wasn't scared to kill off a character (even if you didn't care about them), and this film explored more on the human side of things. When they killed off Gilgamesh, I obviously didn't feel as much emotion as someone like Tony Stark dying, but I was still mad they killed off a cool character. We just got properly introduced to him somewhat and he already seemed very likeable. This was definitely a more mature type of movie and I am under 20 years old and I appreciate this movie a lot. This wasn't my favorite MCU movie but it's no where near the "worst", it is definitely a 6-7.5/10 . This movie definitely had top tier CGI (except Pip the Troll at the end) and the visuals and fights were stunning. If you thought this movie was "confusing" go watch Inception or Tenet or Midsommar (they're not actually confusing but if you thought this movie was "confusing" somehow get ready to get more confused)

For me, in a movie it is the character arcs that I value the most. I picture emotions as the hardest aspect of sreenwritting. The MCU generally speaking doesn't have characters that could exist in a real society. Even that we love Tony Stark or Thor if you imagine that they really exist, they personalities just appear extreme. That's why I love Eternals the most. They are literally god-like beings with their immortality and powers, but they had very natural, human traits. And they were like 10 in a movie and still I can talk for 10 minutes about each. And if I watched Iron Man again as you said, I'd get three characters that I could elaborate about all at once and I'd end after these 10 minutes beacuse there's literally not much to say. And just to remind that story of that movie was like... trash for today's MCU standards. Imagine if this premiered today. Do people really think that if we got Eternals with a story formula of Iron Man or Thor or Doctor Strange, would it be actually better? Surpise: no, it would be even worse. We'd get Captain Marvel situation with bigger mess of characters. The diversity works. Breaking the formula works. That's why I love Eternals. And the story itself... it has flaws of course, but doesn't every MCU movie? Thanos could just create more stuff than kill half of universe, Tony could have snapped Thanos just after they got the stones. I think people just hate because they didn't get what they expected. Shame.

I really liked ETERNALS, it was almost not a superhero film but about Gods and their creators. The cinematography, score, etc was on WB level of production in terms of quality - like recent films Dune, The Suicide Squad, Doctor Sleep, and of course DC films akin to Man of Steel, ZSJL, etc - but the pacing was a bit off between characters and their motivations, and lacked some character development but they do have a really good foundation and bunch of characters for a sequel, so I welcome ETERNALS 2. This is a film that felt more matured, focused on plot instead of packing in action, Gods essentially trying to be more human in their justification as to stop Tiamut, like the Gods of Olympus trying to stop Cronus from destroying Earth. Zhao' direction was great for this kind of MCU film; but 500 critics give it 48% compared to 10000+ viewers whom gave it 78% on RT, fan and viewer reactions matter more, they always have. A bad review hardly stops me from seeing a film.
