One of the few franchise that doesn't fail to satisfy our visual hunger. Seriously, the VFX just keeps getting better and better with each film. One's childhood isn't complete without the existence of these films, and I'm so glad that they did. Another tribute that delivers the justice these movies deserve. Thank you for this! These movies have the best CGI and cinematography of any franchise around, not to mention one of the best soundtracks ever, an absolutely incredible plot, perfect writing, and excellently acted characters. The original trilogy is perfect imo and it disappoints me that there's no Pirates games except for the LEGO one and some movie tie-ins of questionable quality. I will admit the PC and Wii version of At World's End was pretty fun

The Lego game really disappointed me, it made so many changes to plots and scenes from the films and it was waaaaaayyyyy to goofy in for a Lego game. I was expecting something like Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones, which adapted the films so faithfully and only made changes where they needed and the tone was more balance.

these movies are actually really well shot. Kind of surprised to discover that since these are disney movies. I decided to watch the trilogy for the first time ever and it was really enjoyable. the worldbuilding and characters make for an interesting franchise. Of course, the VFX are outstanding, especially on Davy Jones. And depp is a pretty good actor. Was super shocked to find out he got an oscar nom for playing Sparrow.

PotC trilogy films have the best visuals ever made in live action IMHO. We've got some very good CGI over the years (Avatar, for instance) but these Pirates movies had something so raw yet so artistically beautiful in them. The characters have dirty nails and teeth, ragged clothes, the environment is rusty and decadent but at the same time it's so colorful and full of life, so everything comes together with very well done shots that makes it look like some old paintings. It scratches the pirate fantasy itch a lot of us had in the childhood in such a perfect way. I miss these movies, hell, I miss movies like this. Nowadays everything looks so crispy and clean, it makes it so hard to immerse in the universes when everything feels staged instead of living breathing world.

Obviously the visuals are stunning, but the dialogue in these movies is incredibly witty and the decision to make word play so prevalent in a film about pirates who would have been very uncivilized is a genius concept. My friends and I quoted from these movies all the time growing up and still do as jokes within our group.
