I’m a fan of the Transformers franchise because of this live-action film series. It has a great score. As for the second movie, one aspect I really like about it is this. In the beginning, Sam’s mom doesn’t want him to leave and go to college. While the scene is not taken quite seriously, and Sam’s Dad is acting like he doesn’t mind that his son is moving out of the house. However, later in the movie, it’s revealed that Sam’s father was holding back how he truly felt, and Sam must go on without his parents. His dad doesn’t want him to go. But, Sam must. He’s his own man now, and that scene is taken seriously.

No matter what critics or anyone says, I'll always love watching and rewatching these movies for what they are. Even when the story and characterization aren't best, the visuals, special effects, amazing CGI, action scenes, Peter Cullen as Optimus and Steve Jablonsky's soundtrack will always be the reason for me to return to these movies. In fact I've been doing the rewatch right now.

I still remember the summer of 2007 when everyone I knew was hyped for the first film. I was already a big TF fan but that film and the series cemented it even further. Still haven't seen 4 or 5, yet (only clips/this video) and I know about the hate they've gotten but truthfully I don't care because to me despite what hate they get or even if I don't like all of them, this series played an important part of my love for cinema and was a big inspiration for becoming a filmmaker. They truly are more than meets the eye.

Que the obligatory “these movies weren’t great but… “, and I honestly hate the fact that because these movies have such a bad reputation people don’t feel like they can freely praise aspects of them without having to point out that they’re bad, as if it’s a mandatory prerequisite when talking about the TF movies, because they’re bad and your supposed to hate them. Not saying criticism isn’t valid or should be dismissed, just that if people want to say something good about these, or any movies with a bad reputation, they should be able to do so without having to feel hesitant or point out that “yes they are bad but… “.

@other shadoruto Yeah it pretty ridiculous, and it’s pretty common with bad movies by generally disliked directors, every bad decision in the movie is automatically the fault of the director, not because people actually know it was their decision making, but simply because people want a reason to hate them, ie Micheal Bay, and okay alot of his movies do share similarities in (for example) comedy, so it’s fair to assume that he had a hand in alot of the jokes, but to look at every single bad aspect of the movie and directly blame Bay is just ridiculous, we weren’t behind the scenes so we don’t know who was deciding what, there are writers, producers etc, and they all work together *with* eachother, so alot of decision making is usually a joint effort, not just Bay.

People wouldn’t storm out to theatre everytime he releases a new movie if it was shit. Zack Snyder f.e tries to be Bay but fails at that. Bays way of shooting things is seen as clichè now, and that it because so many tries to copy his style that he brought to the table years ago. Like the slow-mo, low-angle/hero shots, practical with special effects blended seamlessly and more. His scripts, characters and plots aren’t the strongest, but besides being very generic/clichè on surface level at least he brings his frenetic and crazy vision to it all, which makes almost every scene go in every direction possible. That makes it very funny and entertaining. At least he NEVER makes boring movies. He never sells false advertisment either. You know exactly what you’re gonna get, and you can’t say you were promised something different. Also, he is a master at bringing the absolute best from his CG workers, music compousers, set/production designers and actors. Every actor know they are in a Michael Bay movie and they bring exactly what are expected from them and more. Bring your hate elsewhere, dude. Go jack off to Snyders desaturated and pretentious 4:3 format movies…

Lol, Snyder and Bay are the least nuanced and subtle directors in the world, I have watched all their movies, and that’s a fact. Snyder tries sometimes to be more deep like Batman v Superman and then he fails spectacularly, and comes off just pretentious with all his «epic» imagery and christ allegories. His desaturation makes the movies so dour, grey and depressing which is partly why so many dislike them. Superhero/action movies needs color. Bay brings that and his movies look way better than Snyder. Just watch Patrick Willems essay of Bays career. Snyder wants to be Christopher Nolan but his intellectual mind is of a third-grader. Same as Bay. But at least Bay knows that, and so he makes juvenile, silly, macho stuff with the Transformers, but he can be nuanced and serious with stuff like 13 hours or The Island. Snyder have had the most popular superheroes ever, and not one of his DCEU movies have crossed a billion dollar on the box office. But Bay have Transformers movies based on boy toys from the 80s which everybody had forgot, and managed to cross a billion dollar with 3 OF THEM!!! That should be impossible, but he did it because he brings spectacle and epic action like no other. Pure escapism entertainment. With Snyder I check my watch after 10 min and gets bored. He just gets sympathy points now after what happened to his daughter. The Snyder cut is really bad, when you think about it. Just a bunch of immature fanboys insulting WB and their executives on Twitter because they didn’t like the finished version. Really hope Snyder one day admits how much he admires Bay, because it shines trough. I guess you secretely loved this amazing shots video of Transformers, and you’re embarassed to admit it.

Finally, thank you Amazing shots! These movies have incredible cinematography, Bay is a master at blending practical effects/ stunts, wire pulls etc and real locations with special effects and that amounts to absolutely stunning and the most awesome shots ever. I could think of over a 100 shots that I could hang on my wall at home. Blending that with Steve Jablonsky’s epic and badass music makes with so many goosebump inducing moments. Bay gets a lot of hate and it seems popular just to hop on that bandawagon, but when you see his Bayformers movies, sure they are trash (have so many crude jokes, women framing as porn stars, cliche plots) but they actually have a lot of heart and personality which differensiate them from all other generic Hollywood franchises. as Cade says to Optimus in Transformers 4, a quote that perfectly describes Bay’s billion dollar Transformers movies: «I’m asking you to look at all the junk and see the treasure»

Movie haters hate it for the reasons that keeps on repeating over and over and not say anything new and not understand how these movies are for the amazing action and the robots for selling toys like the og cartoon. And plus at least these movies aren't soulless like the g1 movie that killed off almost all of the g1 series characters giving them less than 9 second screentime all because of their god damn toy being discontinued. I think there’s one shoot should be mention here, it’s the shoot from part 3, Dark of The Moon, Chicago battle. When the aircrafts are about to reach the drop point but they got attacked, soldiers need to jump out with wingsuit, we got that pov shoot from inside and see other aircraft is falling down while soldiers are making a jump. That shoot was insane with slow motion, also intense because it show us how critical is the battle and how small we are out there.

Honestly Im going to miss Michael Bays Transformers...I'm going to miss the soundtracks he had for his films...When I say I miss his Transformers I mean 1-3. For me that was the real Transfromers.
