Ok I just broke down, Malinche is my ancestor and to hear her defended as she should be makes me very happy. The wrong that has been done against my ancestor needs to be heard. She was NOT a traitor, there were various tribes that were enemy of the Mexica. It was not some utopia people want to believe. I am so happy this woman spoke the truth.

On the other hand, as DJ Peach Cobbler recently discussed, within the historical context of the Tlaxcala Triple Alliance, the circumstances surrounding the Cholula Massacre warrant a more critical look of the agency of the Spanish and the intentions of the Tlaxcaltecs in general.

When only one voice speaks the truth, they speak on the side of justice. I was unaware that Malinche was maligned as such. I thought the Mexicans saw her as a heroine. But today I learned something new. She was most certainly a brilliant young woman. The attacks on her are based on misogyny and nothing else. I think the speaker voiced her beliefs with amazing passion.
