Reminds me of our Lister in the shearing shed on the east coast of NZ back in the 60's...but she would have taken 4 try's at the most...good days!

They never have a tank at the well head that gets filled by the pump during it's run irrigating. Then when the pump needs priming... just open a valve on the tank and backfill the well priming it with water from the tank.... which is refilled when the irrigation is pumping...

Reminds me of a twelve hp Lister I have. It has a place for a starter but never had one. It was hard to start until I got better council how to do it.

i thought the same. if they have the size motor their. there must be another smaller one with enough torque to turn that bigger diesel instead of hand cranking

Поршневая там мертвая. От того и запуск плохой и тяги нет, а так же вижно что нет нет в работе саляру не сгоревшую выплевывает

It's a diesel. It relies on heat to "fire off" the ignition cycle. It's too cold for combustion which is why here is white smoke. The compression of the air in the cylinder is the only heat the engine is getting. When there is sufficient heat then the engine can run.
