He hit the bottom of your gun mantlet which has alot less armour and almost any hit there kills all 3 crew in the turret. You were pretty much aiming the shell on the turret wedges so that’s why it didn’t pen in the protection analysis. That spot is like the drivers hatch on the t80’s its almost always a 1 hit kill unless you hit your shell in the 2 pixels that doesn’t spall for some reason

The reason why the 2s38 killed you was because it's kinetic energy penetrator ammunition so the longer its in the air the more pen it has but then falls off after a while
