I've made a sphere with that technique with one difference which is that I used sugar and water mixture to soak string in. when you pop the balloon it sounds like breaking glass. But I absolutely love this and will be mmaking one of these! Plus it's a great idea for making Christmas gifts!! Only lamp I've made was a cloud lamp using LED lights with remote control inside a paper lantern then glued white stuffing from an old pillow all over the lantern. It looks very cool hanging in my grandsons room!
