Great idea for the sewing cabinet. My mom had one but a sister has it now. Great job on the transformation! I don’t think you are a hoarder at all! When I see furniture handles or knobs of any kind at a great price, I buy them. Then I put them in a drawer. You would be surprised how often I find matching knobs for pieces needing replacements. I really love the picture. Those types of print is what I really like. I have looked endless places for the collage of farm prints from Home Interior. And that sewing kit thingy..is so pretty and useful. I have seen those alot but would never get it cause I didn't know what to do with it. My husband said I could put jewelry in it. I have a stand up armoire. I want to get rid of it. So now I am on the hunt for a sewing kit. Great thrift finds and redo. Love them both so much.

What a genius idea for your thrifted box!!!!! It turned out brilliantly!!! I think I would line the bottom of the compartments with some kind of washable shelf paper that could be wiped clean if ever necessary. Some kind of paper stock in the beautiful muted green accent color in your bathroom would look so nice. Scrapbook paper would probably work and then cover it with a clear acetate sheet to make it more durable. I am even madder at myself now for selling my vintage sewing box at that yard sale😡. I am definitely going to start looking for one of these for me to flip in a similar way!!! I just LOVE the way your genius project turned out!!! And yes indeed-holding on to things is a good thing!!! It always seems that I never hold on to the right things!!! I definitely get rid of the wrong things!!! That’s an amazing idea! It’s beautiful! It’s funny what moves and what doesn’t. Plates don’t move but platters do. Right now none of the copper or brass is moving. Art work doesn’t move, my wreaths I made didn’t go in my booth and usually I couldn’t make them fast enough 🤦🏻‍♀️ My big rooster is still sitting there so I’m planning on bringing him home and give him a different look.I watch several channels that do a lot of painting and flipping for their booths and I’ve learned from them that if a piece is missing a lot of paint or had to be sanded a bunch or if it wants to bleed through to give it at least 2 coats of Bulls Eye Shellac then it seals it and gives your paint something to attach to. Hope this helps you down the road sometime. Hubby and & I are going to go to garage sales this morning and see what we can find for the booth. Have a great day! ❤️🙏🏻

I was thrift shopping on Friday and saw a sewing chest. I was so excited until I looked at the price - $150. It was not even in good condition. Needless to say, I left it there. Your sewing chest might be my most favorite flip that you have ever done.

Hi Donna 😊. Your Momma is gonna have to get in line with all of us...we're all gonna be huntin for one of those sewing caninets. Your redo on it is so cute and got us all thinkin of the many uses. It's. just adorable. You could even use it to store your small seasonal pictures and knick knacks anywhere in your house. I ove the picture you got. The touch up you did on the frame just brought out the richness of the wood. Si nice. Nothing says the south like rocking chairs and quilts. You could get a quilt scrap and put a small piece hanging outside a pitcher or tea cup in your wooden wall cabinet. A small wooden thread spool would be a cute addition too. I just love quilts! You have the best ideas and us ladies in the south kinda like the same things. Things to remind us of our childhoods. Right? 😄. The possibilities are endless with this piece. I love old quilts and rocking chairs. I just image all the time spent working on the quilt in the chair on the porch. Simpler times.❤️☺️
