I will try to install it and play the game. I actually already apparently already have the game installed on my steam deck but just never played it before haha. But i randomly came across another video hyping this mod. So i became curious about it. And then i found this channel. Please keep making steam deck mod content! Much appreciated 🎉

Hopefully i can lower the geometry and fxaa a bit to get a somewhat stable 40fps I played the whole days gone campaign on a stable 40fps by drastically lowering the geommetry and draw distance but keeping lighting on high/ultra and shadows on medium. And the game still looked pretty amazing. I find that lowering the amount of polygons and keeping the lighting and shadow quality high still makes a game look great if the lighting is already high quality.

Looks great! I love watch dogs especially the first two games. So is a must try this mod on the steam deck. How many fps run with the mod installed? Because the base game run a little bit bad on almost all configuration.

The funny thing is that I found this video searching for watch dogs modded or mods on steam deck and let me tell you did a great job breaking the process and the mod down for viewers. Also I heard this mod fixes alot of the performance issues on steam deck not just restores scrapped content.

Thank you! And all you need to do is transfer the files mentioned to the folder location and it'll work perfectly in gaming mode

Awesome video! Just wondering did you have to buy the game again as well as buying it on Steam? As it’s asking me for a Ubisoft Connect key when loading up the game for the first time. Also, are you connected to Watch Dogs online when playing the game with this mod?

Nope, just bought via Steam only. I do remember something about this upon initial launch but can't remember what I did now. I think I might have launched it via Desktop mode for the first time or pasted my steam key in? In terms of online, I just left it all at the default which has online enabled afaik

@@ModsOnSteamDeck okay thanks. I’ve just looked online and there is a way to copy and paste a Ubisoft key when launching the game for the first time. So I shouldn’t need to buy the game again. Do you still get achievements as normal even with this mod enabled?

@@8888jackman I'm not too sure about that, I just had a look in my library and the achievement bar isn't even there on that game for me :S

I would also humbly request some living city type mods/cop roleplay mods for gta 5. Or for me i tried to get some more zany/funny mods on the steam deck with gta 5 like low gravity, or extreme bunny hop type mods. Because that's all i would do in gta san andreas back in the day. So far i haven't succeded in installing any mod for the steam deck. I have also tried some high profile gta 4 mods. No succes so far. I'm new to linux.

Did you manage to get Reshade working as well? Living city was designed around a custom reshade preset and I can’t seem to manage to get it to work on deck

I didn't actually try the reshade part of the mod but it sounds like something i'd be interested in taking a look at sometime

Nice - yeah looks like steamtinkerlaunch is the way to go. Reshade is built into the plugin but you got to find the file path to install the ini. or at least I can't find the preset in the reshade menu.

There's no real install process. You just need to install the game through steam, then switch to desktop mode and paste the mod files into the game directory. (follow the readme.txt file you get with the mod regarding which folder to past files into)

​​@@ModsOnSteamDeck awesome man, although i love the steam deck oled. I'm new to linux. And it's a little confusing where the folders are. Since alot of folder have weird acronyms and not the usual names like in windows.
