Hello everyone,
When I was a kid, my dad has told me about the reduction of manpower of traditional trades due to the industrialization and modernization of Japanese society, traditional products started to become out-dated and forgotten.
#japanesewoodworking #HakoneMarquetry #woodworkingsatisfied
However, they’re still young people who spend all of their careers to carry on the tradition. We'd like to honor them as much as we can. So I decided to create a series of video shows about them and their work from the footage available from my friends and myself.
Today, This video will be more attractive because I have edited the script, rewrote the content, new voices were recorded, new effects work, new music, new footage added and a new creation is created as follows: "Amazing Young Hakone Marquetry Craftsman: Kojima Yuhei - Extremely Satisfied For Woodworking"
This time our main character is a Young Hakone Marquetry Craftsman: Kojima Yuhei
In the previous video, we have seen how Hakone Yosegi-zaiku is made from the traditional craftsmanship of the master craftsmen.
In this video, let's find out how young people in Japan inherit and promote it.

I find it so reassuring that a young man is continuing this craftsmanship tradition, there are so many being lost due to disinterest and profit minded youth. Please stay with this and continue this wonderful artwork.

Dear Sir, It's an absolute pleasure to watch craftsmen at work especially when they keep an age old tradition alive. I can see & understand why this young apprentice wants to devote his life to this craft; it's not only fascinating but addictive I would hazard to guess. Wonderful yet again. Kind regards.

Beautiful work... I love the machines he's using, especially that slicing machine. Never seen anything like that before. I know from my own marquetry workshop that it takes many years to work out the techniques that will give you that level of perfection. The key is good planning and cut out the guesswork. The quality is second to none...
