Why were you allowed to skip the long security line. Going to jubilee this year. Are there two lines

When the group have bring Cross there they are registered group from Vatikan, like, Holy Cross, not the regular you ,i will go there register with group holycross and have light cross that can go inside

As per my experience, I think they have opened to all who ever wants to pass the Holy Door. My schedule was on the 26th of December but I went into the St. Peter's Basilica on the 25th and pass the door. You have to always go through security where the lines are massive on peak hours.
