I bought the black one, and it sounds great. Not a fan of the tuners, but they work. I put clear tone / volume knobs on it, and it looks great. played great out of the box. I do not like the small baby, beginner frets.

Richard, bought the same model upon your recommendation. Put locking tuners today (was pain, had to file the tuner holes from vintage 9mm to 10mm). I still can't get that pleasing felling though, I think it is the strings ... Did you change the strings?

No I didn't change anything. I adjusted the truss rod a bit to make the neck more straight, and adjusted the saddles to get the action where I wanted it. That's it.

Lowered the action, tuned it up, and this baby shreds! A couple of things I need to do more, though: - need to check the grounding and seal the controls cavity with copper foil. Have some noise unless left hand is on the strings. - Need to figure out how to file off the action nuts for the string saddles at the bridge. Now they poke too much, scratching my right hand ... But these are common guitar issues, not specific to this model. Very happy with my $120 purchase from Amazon!

If you change the strings and do any fret polishing or rolling of the fretboard, let us know if it helped. I know cheap guitars always come with corroded, dried out dead strings that feel stiff and nasty.

I've always used 9s from the very beginning. I would actually like to give 8s a try. Paul Gilbert uses them now. So yeah, you should definitely try 9s.

Hey Richard! Hope your well man, i wish theyd sell these here in the UK, id love to try one. Im not sure if you'd be able to get one there but BAX music have an in house brand called Fazley, similar to Thomman and Harley Benton. Ive had tbree fazleys and i cant help but wonder if those Fesleys are our Fazleys? Conspiracy lol, but id strongly recommend having a look at Fazley, the sunset and outlaw series have some pretty ridiculously spec'd stuff, roasted maple necks and Wilkinson trems/bridges, locking tuners and TUSQ nuts for 113 and 130 pounds. In dollars i think that's 150 - 160 dollars ( i think) plus shipping from....... The Netherlands i think BAX are based. Just a small nod for you and any other American fellows reading this. I actually didn't feel the need to change the nut on this guitar. It's simulated bone nut according to them. But if you want to change it, I'd get the PT-5010-00 Graph Tech nut. You might have to sand on each side so it doesn't hang over the fretboard, but the slots are in the right place.

This guitar is amazing for the price!!! So I've changed saddles with brass saddles and as per your suggestion waiting for tusk nut and the graphtech string retainers . That's because Donner has been around longer, they have several guitar models plus lots of other products, and they send out a lot of guitars for KZbin reviews. Fesley is newer and only has this one guitar model so far. I like both companies. The Donner guitars are good too, but for sure the Fesley is better.

I got the Ashthorpe single humbucker "Kramer" body copy from Amazon for $109. They lowered the price to around $85 now. Neck isn't the best. Frets want to bite you. But nothing that can't be fixed. But the Ashthorpe had less sharp frets than the $600 Epi LP standard I got.

I haven't measured it, but it's a dinky style body like a Charvel so it's smaller than a strat body. That's the design. But it is still a full 25.5 inches in scale length.

The only thing, my whammy bar is loose, not sure why. wish I could figure it out. there is a plastic sleeve inside the trem block and a round groove on the bar, I hear it click but it is wobbly. other than that...THAT NECK! man, it feels great and the price is right. I just took the back cover off anyways, I always take them off and put them aside, so not an issue. Pretty sure I used the link on this video to purchase, hope that helps! Rock on!

This is gonna sell a lot of Fesleys haha. I haven't been able to get a good idea of what the pickups sound like but your video makes them sound well above par for the price. Would you say it sounds and plays as well as mid-range kinda $500ish Ibanez/LTD guitars? I find that usually, these sub $250 lesser-known guitars kinda sound shrill and tinny. It looks great though!

Stopping your first reflections give the biggest benefit, so in front of you. Then any other hard surface. Even heavy curtains or blanket would help with your voice reflections. Won't help with bass frequencies but will be a big improvement.

that Dokken sounding Intro..... But the thing is, if you unplugged that guitar, and plugged in your Charvel, then unplugged that, and plugged in my cheap-o fakestrat, It will all sound virtually the same, because what we are really hearing is your amp and effects. Now, other things like how it stays in tune, or if the pickups can pick up the full volume, the intonation, things like that make a guitar better, but just soundwise, it's mostly in the amp/effects. My opinion.

I think to get rid of the humbucker and go with SSS and mount a nice Pearl/ White Pickguard on it. Tuners defibitively gotta go too. I'll put a nice set of locking tuners .I think they did a cheap job with fesley logo. Gotta go... I will paint the headstock in Black matt and apply a PRS ..and get a PRS Truss Rod cover $100 extra in modification should do it I think

Of course I'd prefer a hardtail. I'm not a bomber anyway. I did a few off camera and it only barely went out of tune. It's a good quality solid bridge. Without using the bar it stays in perfect tune.
