He didn't say or show how long it actually took to get the lock open on this boot. I'd say by the time lapse in the video it probably took him at least 5 to 10 minutes if not longer to open it. What criminal is going to waste that much time attempting to steal? Besides, boots like this one are for homeowners to protect their cargo trailers and such from theft. These are not the kind municipalities use. Of course these are going to be cheaply made and easier to get around. But, even these accomplish the task of causing a criminal to waste time. It's maybe enough, combined with other measures to just convince the hood to leave your stuff alone.

Angle grinder is too slow. Use a drill and drill that cheap lock out instead. Once the lock is off, any large flathead screwdriver will loosen the screw and pop. MUCH faster than cutting through the frame of the boot with an angle grinder.

Easy to remove and KEEP and also MORE easy to destroy and leave as example and it only needs 1 drill 1 bit or 1 big screw driver...BRAKE the lock like he 1st told you and open... or drill the rivets out in seconds and dismantle the whole thing....it all can be done inside 30 second any way you want. Best way is to plain keep it an make them want it back but that is never going to happen or you can put it on one of the cars they use and weld it forever shut and leave as a prank.

Drill a hole in tje frame, and one in the door of the lock. Run a small padlock through the holes, and now now "pen" will open it.

Use multiple security features for best results. . Here's my list. . 1. Ignition kill switch 2. Fuel pump kill switch 3. Battery kill switch 4. Hood lock 5. Steering wheel lock 6. Brake pedal lock 7. Dual tire boots, similar to the ones shown in video . Basically, don't depend on one security feature. Use at least three.

At first, this device and the time to dismantle it discourage the thief. Secondly after removing this device, the thief need to remove the wheel lock without making the customed shocking sensor alarm going off. Most owners who purchase this device might already have extra alarm device installed in their vehicle. I think it's worth to buy this device when you have to park on the street for long period of time.

Right. Videos like these surely help criminals, but they don't show exactly how long it takes. In my opinion, long enough for the owner to catch them in the act .

Boot locks are usually used to commit the crimes, therefore people looking to remove them from cars, are usually trying to remove them from their own cars after being illegally booted in a booting scam. Thankfully, the boots commonly available to the public are usually low quality trash that's easily defeated in a number of ways. If I lived anywhere near a city, you bet your booties I'd keep a battery drill in the car for BS like this.

People don't be fooled, it's the old slight of hand trick. Remember how there were videos of people opening doors by cutting a key size circle hole in a tennis ball and then he would place it over the driver side key door lock and with a small crowd gathered he would attempt to pop the lock to open the door by pressing one time fast and hard (usually on the count of 3 for dramatic effects) and 1.....2....3!!!! and nothing happens. Why? Well this part of the show. They will state you have to place it right over the lock just right, and hit it just right,blah,blah,blah, and as he is saying it usually takes 2 or 3 tries and suddenly POP! the door unlocks, the crowd claps, and everyone is cutting tennis balls. STOP! what everyone watching was unaware of is his friend in the crowd who at the same time he presses on the tennis ball his friend presses unlock on the key fob to the car! Lol! Don't fall for that and this one is same with slight variation. It doesn't have to be a pen.how about wiggle a tooth pick or paperclip, back end of filed down toothbrush, anything, doesn't matter cause the lock is already unlocked!!!!! It's just in closed position!!! Notice he fast forwards to show it takes practice or probably edited parts where when he's pretending to pick the lock it may pulled open a lil bit and he had to edit that out. It looks good but just fun magic. SCAMS I CAN AND HAVE EXPLAINED THEM ALL....NEED ANSWERS LET ME KNOW. STAY SAFE AND THINK IT THROUGH
