This beautiful man has the most beautiful voice I have ever heard.. he is so down to earth and comfortable.. you feel that he is talking with you.. not at you.. Love how he introduces himself.. his mannerisms and how expressive his face is.. such beautiful eyes.. incredible smile.. and that sweet laugh.. when he is speaking you do not want to take your eyes off him.. so mesmerizing he is! Matthew MacFadyen is so articulate and precise.. he explains everything carefully and does not rush his words.. and oh., that magical and sublime voice.. you want him to go on talking forever.. Realize Pillars of the Earth was made about 10 years ago.. and Prior Phillip was my favorite character.. played by the indomitable and unforgettable Matthew MacFadyen.. quintessential actor extraordinaire.. he was brilliant.. Writing this comment anyway because Matthew is my favorite actor.. have seen him in Wuthering Heights.. Pride and Prejudice.. Little Dorrit.. Three Musketeers (ah.. Athos!).. My Fathers Den.. to name a few.. brilliant always.. beautiful always.. Matthew MacFadyen is the best.. and the most underrated actor ever.. and like a fine wine.. Matthew gets better with age.. especially to those of us who love him.. most ardently ❣ Really appreciated this interview.. thank you so much for posting it! Jen999💙

I love how he thinks about what he says before he's saying it and so everything aloways makes sense and there's those little pauses where he thinks about what he's going to say next and I love him in everything, especially Pride and Prejudice

It's inspiring for me to see how Philip trust God, has faith in Him. You know, when he doesn't what to do, or when he needs advices, he prays and ask God for help. It's like he is never alone. and, most of all, when he's not sure about what's going to happen, he reassures himself by believing that God will do for the best. Inspiring, really.

Well, well, living at the near bottom of the earth have just learnt about 'Pillars of the Earth'. Love the book, it is one of the finest. Cannot wait to watch the dvd.
