You should look at the numbers. When all is said and none you put deaths over recovered not deaths over cases or recovered over cases. Also those that “recover” about 40% of them have permanent lung damage. If they then can get reinfected it is at that point a death sentence. China has cremated so many bodies it was making black rain in Japan. They have dug mass graves in Iran. Italy said no one over 80 will get medical care. That is over 4 million people left to die. This virus is that serious, it is not hysteria or panic it is an event that is changing the world as we know it. The real problem are the people in denial.

Russia and China have been buying gold like crazy the last few years and just recently they started trading oil without converting to dollars first. This can increase the amount of dollar in the system once they dump their reserves of dollars. This leads to inflation at the same time the Fed is printing money to prop the market up and bail out big businesses and stimulus checks. The market high was 29,500 it’s now 19,800 that is about 30% loss. Let me ask you what would have to happen for your alarm bells to go off? Another 20%? 30%? 50%? When is it time to worry?

I find it very strange to be in this scenario. As an avid prepper for years, we always think of the what if scenario. Now to be in something so huge that the whole world is experiencing it is so surreal. I totally agree! I've been an avid prepper since 2012. Would you believe that after ALL these years, and in this totally surreal GLOBAL situation that I STILL can NOT get my family members to wake up!!! It's almost as if their EGOS are so huge, that they would rather DIE or STARVE scoffing at me, than admit that I was right. Talk about SURREAL!!! Every time I try talking to them cross-country on the phone (like just 48 hours ago) they actually call me a LIAR about everything that is going on! I TRIED again on Friday to talk to my own parents about it, and all they said was, "I guess we will just starve to death, but don't worry, there is nothing going on in Texas!" ..... WTF?! It was just 10 days ago, when I was "stealthily" asking everyone at work if they had their PREPS ready. They ALL laughed their asses off at me about how STUPID I was being. Since then, I've quit my job and I'm simply watching the show!!!! ... from SW Oregon :-)

It's not that way with Amazon in my location. In fact Fresh and Prime deliveries are getting delayed. At the first of last week you could get Fresh deliveries the same day, now it's almost two days out to book a time window. For Prime, it was same day for orders over $35 or the next day. As of Sunday 03/15, Wednesday is the earliest I am able to get a Prime delivery. For Fresh, many of the things low or out in stores were available. Now they are running out of the same items. For the popular items on regular Amazon, many are backordered for 2-3 weeks best case and that doesn't matter if its via Prime or not. The window to get those last few things is definitely closing.

Essentially, there are few options they could have used in addressing COVID-19. A person I know that is very familiar with epidemics in third world countries listed them. 1. Let it occur: predicted 81% infection rate ~2.1 million deaths overburdened healthcare system 2. Herd immunity: quarantine at risk (elderly and those with compromised health) ~1 million deaths overburdened healthcare system 3. Decrease/slow the virus spread: social distancing self-quarantine for 3 months (This will slow the spread but not eliminate it) overburdened healthcare system (less of a burden than options 1 and 2) (Note: It will take an estimated 18 to 20 months of social distancing and self quarantine if the goal is to eliminate the threat) The current fatality rate projections for COVID-19 are: 10% (80 and over) 5% (70-79) 2% (60-69) Drops significantly age 59 and lower (30% of those infected will require critical care) Other impacts: (probably the most important...all things considered) Economic (number 3 appears to be the most economically destructive) Psychological (number 3 also appears to be the most psychologically destructive) Currently, option 3 (or variants thereof) seem to be the choice of our leadership. What does this mean for the people? Prolonged state of fear and anxiety Greater (near-total) dependency on the State Negatively impacts nearly all the people (psychologically, economically) The real show begins when the people are left with no alternative but to look to the State to save them.

I work in a large Amazon fulfillment center in SC and your driver may be right about routes canceled but not about why. They are contractors and never see the inside of a fulfillment center. They work out of delivery centers that are stocked from the big warehouses. Our warehouse, 1.2 million sq. ft., is full. We have our normal flow of trucks coming up to the inbound dock. What it is not full of is workers. Amazon removed the penalty for using UPT, unpaid time, for the month of March and the next day staffing was at 65%. Our daily goal is 87% or higher. Those that do come in are working mandatory overtime to get orders out. Be clear. These people for the most part are not sick. They are screwing the pooch for time off. Well it's going to come home to roost when they have no paycheck next Friday and they blew through their welfare and spouses paychecks. Amazon was also one of the first companies to give 14 days paid time off if you are diagnosed with Covid-19. So they are looking out for us. I've worked there for 4 years in a support roll, started on the floor but no longer out there, so I get more of the info from management and Seattle.

Pull your head out of your ass. @@patrickmuldowney9407 There is not paid sick time for that, no company is doing that nor has any company ever to my knowledge done that, but you can take as many un-paid days as you need to care for them without fear of firing. Amazon issues 20 hours of UPT per quarter that you can use as you want. Normally if that balance goes into negative numbers and you have no other ways to cover the time, they fire you. Yes there is an appeals process and if they like you they will work with you sometimes but you have to understand the Average amazon warehouse worker can barely tie their shoes. Trailer Trash Ugh. Forgot my ice cream this morning. Of course, i remembered an extra stash bag of the dog’s favorite treats though. Funny story, my sisters like my place and had been mulling around the idea of building something out there to stay in when they visit. They are both going out there tomorrow to start digging if the ground is thawed, lol. I figure I’ll give them a week to have at it before i show up and pick up the pieces. I figure that should be a good time to roll into if things don’t change and i need to go sooner. This event does seem to be waking some people up. From what i see, the ones that struggle the most to learn from this are those that act like victims. If they can get out of that mind set and go more toward what can i do now and for next time they will be able to learn and adapt where they need to, just like we all can.

That's strange because the Amazon workers I know stated that they are receiving a temporary raise from $15 to $17 and they have a mandatory day of overtime a week until end of April. I'm in Dallas. My spectulation is that Amazon is going to be used to deliver our rations once they close all the stores.

The Amazon driver makes sense because most people are buying locally right now and spending money on food etc. We are sure to see some supply line disruptions from China in the near term, however.
@onespeedlite4 жыл бұрын
@AMSLPI You can't buy food from Amazon if there is none left to buy. When you go to Amazon's website, a banner on top says, "Inventory and delivery may be temporarily unavailable due to increased demand." There you have it.

My amazon comes from my UPS driver and she’s so lazy she acts like it’s the end of the world to have to drive to my house out in the country. I even welded up a huge steel mailbox that accepts boxes 24”x 24” x 36” and she’s too lazy to open it, she just puts the package in a plastic bag and sits it on top.

You need to ask ups what their delivery instructions are. Their trucks & scanners are equipped with gps & monitor how many seconds they are stopped at each delivery point. Yes, SECONDS. Everything they do is monitored & scrutinized. USPS is now told they are not allowed to go up driveways & not allowed to back up more than 50'. Their scanners are also equipped with gps & monitor not only how long they stop but generate a report for unusual braking, acceleration, etc. you may think you are secluded but if you receive deliveries, your position is already mapped.

Carol Hargis my driveway is a little rough (although the mailman and fedex come to my door) so I built that steel box out on the road because she wouldn’t come up, the box is in a super easy spot but she’s too lazy to get out and open it, she just puts it in a big clear bag and sits it on top. She’s just lazy, when I bought my house she had all the locals meet her at the local gas station/restaurant at certain times to pick up their packages lol. At least now she drives past our driveway I guess.

@@southernprepper1 Very good. Too many You Tubers are way to dependent on Walmart. Walmart / China Mart is part of the problem now, our insistence on cheap Chicom goods means nothing is manufactured here anymore. Now, goods are either out of stock or inflated prices anyway. I've said it myself, our economy has tanked mainly because we have outsourced everything. We make very little here (except debt). Hence no jobs. A part of that is due to the government overregulation and reach. Pay for a poster on your wall, pay for employee health care, social security is the biggest deduction, pay 3 levels of taxes (city, state, and federal), pay unemployment insurance, pay for liability insurance, pay for an inspection, it goes on and on.

I´ve been mocked and verbally thrashed by someone I assumed to be my friend for saying that the economy is likely to do a full 1929 even without Corona, but with Corona it´s unavoidable... This is one of the few moments where I hate to be right! USA, EU (my place) and China are all overdue as they printed money out of nothing and have little supporting their debts... It´s actually a long list of things that we allowed to go wrong. It could very much destroy the Euro, the EU and cause civil war in China. I don´t know how it would look in the USA, but apparently enough fantasize about civil war there too...

To add to this, A friend wanted me to get him a computer monitor on Amazon. He says go order it, there were 4 now it says 3. So I order it then it says 2, next morning he calls and says they are all gone. Now a computer monitor is pretty common, but he had to search for some time to find that one. Point here is much of the stuff we have taken for granted comes from China and China has been shut down. As Monitors etc move through a stopped supply chain until stock runs out. Is Harbor Freight going to close up soon? The stuff that was so common may not be so common. On the bright side many of us have a garage stuffed full of stuff. That stuff may have more value on ebay now.

Your thoughts exactly mirror the ones I've been having for months. The Amazon delivery info really surprised me though. It would make sense that orders would pick up, unless folks are using their money to buy food instead. If you look at the global virus, and the Market & precious metals fluxuations, we're heading for very rough times. There's also information that the US will be put on lock down for 2 weeks, beginning on the 20th and speculation that there might be a bank holiday coming. All believable. May the Lord protect you and your family, David.

Hi J.T., seems we run in the same circles on YT. Like minds. If they do lock down, my fear is they will find a reason to keep us locked down. 2 weeks from the 20th, would be the 3rd, when those on Social Security get their check/deposit. Will they lift the lock down so seniors can spend? Or will they say it's to dangerous, especially for seniors, and in their best interest keep the lock down in place? It's so hard to tell which way they would go with this. Things seem to change daily. Praying that if they do lock us down, it really is only for 2 weeks. God bless!

@lonestar22759 Most people are aware of depositing $10,000 in cash, or more, into their account draws government scrutiny. If a person withdraws $5000 in cash, or more, from their account, the bank is required by law to file a Suspicious Activity Reports, (SAR) with law enforcement. If a person tries to go around the reporting requirements by depositing, or withdrawing, smaller amounts in close proximity, or in a recognizable pattern, then they can be charged with another serious financial crime, called "Structuring". Bank employees are not allowed, by law, to discuss the "Bank Secrecy Act" with non-employees. I've jokingly mentioned the SAR to bank tellers before, & some looked at me like I had 2 heads. Bottom line is the government does not want you to use cash, unless you are giving $2,000,000,000 in cash to Iran.
