Both pretty good, I would lead Echo though since its a bit clearer at higher volumes and sounds more complete

I disagree with the echo in kitchen over show argument. If you spill or splash something on the cloth of the echo it’s going to be a nightmare to clean, as opposed to the show where you can easily wipe off the display. sides and back don’t really matter as they’ll be less visible

Hey, thanks for this video. I'm considering the Show 8 vs Echo for my two sisters as a Christmas gift. Trying to decide which they'd like better and your video helped me a lot--thanks! I also want one for myself and I'm torn between the better Echo sound and the cool video features but not as good sounds of the Show 8.

For an extra $10 during prime day is rather buy the show 8.... you get the great sound volume, a display and a camera that follows you when you are on a video call. Alexa is evolving but the Google assistant is still smarter for web inquiries.

The only USEFUL thing about either of these is the drop in calling feature. They rest is just more silicon valley overhype

voice command for pretty much anything you can think of is maybe a little bit awesome 🤷‍♂️. paired with a proper home assistant and/or node red the possibilities are endless.
