Amazon Kindle Touch Lighted Cover: Review

This is my friend's second Kindle. kzbin.infoUgkxOnUR4NaproSbBbD2sdI4XcDZ58Jz8GOx The first one which is about 5 or 6 years old quit charging because the bottom connector went bad. When I saw they upgraded to a USB C connector I knew it was time. I think the old USB Micro connectors are a PIA. Her new one is great. It synced right out of the box and connected to WiFi immediately. The thing is perfect! Sooo mine will arrive tomorrow. (Been reading off an old Fire) What bugs me are the reviewers that give this product one star because it didn't work out of the box or they were too dumb to figure it out. If it doesn't work send it back and get another one. It couldn't be easier with Amazon. Giving it one star because it didn't work says nothing about a good one that does work. I bet a bad one is one in a thousand or more. Give it a break...just get another one.

That is indeed pretty neat. I wish B&N had one like that. A little premium, but still stellar. Really cool how it uses Kindle battery supply too. Never would have thought about that.

Works wonderfully with ancient Kindle 4 (2011). Brilliant for nighttime reading, super ergonomic and just all-around awesome. The felt back is great to hold in my left hand and turn pages effortlessly with my thumb. Highly recommend.

Excellent analysis. The best I have seen about this product. This cover is very, very expensive but well... skip four lattes from Starbucks and you save enough to pay the overpremium of this product. Regarding the job you did for this video... again congrats and thanks. It seems to be a pretty honest analysis and certainly help me to decide!

i gave 30 bucks for lighted cover for kindle 4 and i regret it. because cover is too thick and light is insufficient definetly. only useful thing is that it protects kindle from dust and scratches. YOU SHOULD NOT BUY THIS COVER, YOU DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. Buy something thin.

Very good review, one of the best I've seen. Excellent video quality. My only constructive feedback is less editing; I noticed lot of editing. It would be better and more fluid with less cuts and post production. But again, great job!

In the UK, we don't have the touch - unfortunately - but they still sell the Lighted Cover. So is there one for the Kindle 4 as well?

@octilichious the reason it doesn't is because it is currently impossible to add a backlight to an e-ink screen.

Sonya N Heaney it isn't quite ripping your kindle out of the cover, you should push down on the bottom 2 corners one at a time till it comes up and then it comes out easily. what he did in the video just pushing down on the 1 corner then prying it out was rather reckless.

Only mistake they made with this cover is they didn't add a texture to the leather, which makes it slippery. You can see it in your video, the back shines and looks very smooth..making it slippery to pick up and hold. That for me is the only reason that I don't use it anymore for my kindle 4 and haven't bought it for my kindle Touch. Wish they had made it less slippery because I do like the design, plus the colors are pretty ugly. I got the Olive Green but it's a real yuck color in real life.

You get a lot more out of an eReader then you do a book. If you're going on a trip you don't want to carry an armload of books, so instead you can just bring this lightweight device and store thousands of books that you get direct access to.

This guy is a very good reviewer and sounds very sexy to boot. He could make reading the Telephone Directory sound hot! ;O) I have one of these cases for Kindle 4, they are amazing and totally snug on the Kindle, no straps and very nice to hold, but one of the things this reviewer hasn't mentioned is the lack of durablity.....mine is scratched quite seriously after only two months and I haven't exactly been throwing the thing about. Something which really detracts from the overall enjoyment!
