Used to drive forklifts, tip is to not center forks on leaning pallets, shift forks to the lean side it will help keep it from leaning and if it still wants to take plastic wrap and wrap the bottom of box to the pallet and should sure it up to move safely.

Ratcheting tie down straps will help hold it to the pallet jack then remove and replace as needed

We would use ratchet straps and wrap extra plastic around the bottom to secure leaning. Hope that helps! Rocking it!

Truckshift happens all the time! Working at Toys R Us and unloading the trailers back in the 1990s taught me that:) Funny things you learn from simple (but amazing) jobs from your teen years! :) Glad there was no major incidents! Love you guys! BTW...imagine mounting a power wheels box on your shoulder and climbing the back area shelving 20-30 feet up like a monkey because the back isles were clogged and the rolling stairs could not be used. All in all, I learned so much there and just wanted to share. Thanks!

I think you may have contributed to the leaning by not putting the forks all the way into the pallet. If you can’t get all the way under the pallet because of the truck, pick up the pallet and back it a foot or less off the edge of the truck. Put it down in the edge of the truck. 3/4 or so of the pallet should still be inside the truck and will support you putting it down even with the edge hanging off. Now you’ll be able to go back “in” the pallet further and pick it up with the entire weight of the pallet on the forks.

You can get some ratchet straps with the hooks on the ends & wrap the strap around the box & hook on to each side of the forklift where it won't get caught in the sliding mechanism and ratchet the strap until snug and that should help. Walmart sells them but maybe Home Depot or Northern Tools may be a better quality.

I would recommend using ratchet straps when you have a leaning Gaylord. Attach the ratchet strap to the mast on your dolly.

This unloading certainly demonstrates the disadvantage of not having a loading dock! We unload larger trucks than this every day in under 15 minutes with one operator. I'm surprised to see a relatively modern store without rear truck access. How are you planning to handle deliveries once your doors are open to customers?

@@herasmarket Without a loading bay there isn't a lot to be done. With a dock you just drive your PPT (Powered Pallet Truck) straight into the back of the truck, lift the pallet, reverse out, drop the pallet, rinse and repeat. Even without a PPT it is straightforward if you have a level dock, just harder work as you push and pull the manual pallet truck in and out. We (or rather my colleagues) load and unload around 20 semis (articulated trucks here in UK) per day. When I worked in a grocery store (supermarket) a lifetime ago, we would unload the night delivery in around ten minutes with a team of ten to twelve although those were mainly wheeled cages rather than pallets. Again, this relied on rear access and a level dock. My main concern in taking in bulk deliveries through the customer entrance during opening hours is not time but safety. Once you combine bulk movements on powered equipment with customers risk multiplies exponentially; one poorly secured pallet toppling on a passing customer or a small toddler disappearing under the wheels of your pallet shifter will not do your insurance premiums any good at all!

The pains of pallets not connected to pallet any is that they do shift or move around in transit to places. so if they lean to one side then it means almost all weight to one side instead of balancing and being spread out in box any. atleast u got them down and in besides any worries of them falling over by chance. the fun part be sorting all u got and hope none is ruined or damage to where not able sell it any.

Always have the pallet stacker touching the pallet (as in get it as close as possible)in the video you can see the space in between the pallets and the stacker don't do that I've seen a heavy pallet kick one of them out which ended with hurting someone and breaking alot of stuff. Then always load leaning pallets towards the forklift or pallet stacker in your case. Making unloading faster spin the pallets after like the first 4 pallets are taken out you can go in to one pull it back spin it and push it right to the end of the truck. Should be able to unload a truck in under 30 min when you get the hang of it.

How most Amazon liquidation stores do is price all items at a certain price. Like the few in my area is open Sun- Fri then restock Saturdays. Sundays, all items are $9, no matter what the item is. Then the daily price drops each day, the Fri everything is $2. I'd love to know her pricing too..no matter what, alot of profit to be made

Lift gates are LTL loads only (less than 6 pallets). Anymore than that it’s nearly impossible to request a lift gate because only certain drivers have them and they would have to be in the right place at the right time
