With the spacer the rack is 1 5/8 and add drywall that is either 1/4 or 5/8 and you’re at two inches roughly. If you’re using a 2 inches. You’re putting around 3/4 inch into the stud. The instructions for the identical Rockler branded rack include a guide showing how to size your screws. They say three inches is the minimum length. If it works it works but I went 3 1/2 inch.

My package was missing those small screws that go under the rack arms. Do you know what gauge those are? They are 1/2" long.
