Amazon continues to explode in growth and development… They just keep getting bigger and bigger. Amazon’s original Headquarters is in Seattle Washington. Amazon HQ2 is a project under construction as sister HQ in Arlington Virginia. Amazon originally announced the new global headquarters back in 2018, and they designed it like a 'fake' competition for different cities to bid on. After proposals from cities around North America were submitted to explain why each city is a good choice for Amazon, Amazon made the decision. Phase 1 will complete in 2023. The whole thing will have various office buildings, parks, educational space, fulfillment centers, and shops.
The first phase is Met Park opening mid-2023, and the second phase is Pen Place right across the street where the Helix should be breaking ground shortly after the grand opening of Met Park.

This is hilarious. Arlington Virginia is not actually a city, it’s a county with a lot of vibrant neighborhoods. Rosslyn (Arlington’s tallest neighborhood) is the neighborhood that you showed as “Downtown Arlington”, and the neighborhood that they’re titling “National Landing” already has a name, it’s called Pentagon City, and the neighboring neighborhood is called Crystal City. Even the two metro stops that surround the Amazon HQ 2 are titled by those very names. Arlington county is just allowing Amazon to unofficially rename it all for their own branding purposes. Pentagon city already has tens of dozens of sky scrapers, and has the headquarters of multiple multi-billion dollar companies, like Boeing. Amazon is NOT filling in the gap between Arlington and Alexandria, as it’s already built up bigger than most cities in the country. 😂 Also, the Whole Foods is already there. Been there for yeeaaaars. It was built a year before Amazon ever bought Whole Foods. I live here. So, just telling how it is here on the ground.

They’re already almost finished with building a whole new metro station south of the built up area.

It's actually in an established neighborhood in Arlington called Pentagon City and it's located between Roslyn and Crystal City. All are neighborhoods in Arlington.

Video isn’t accurate. Pentagon City is just getting renamed. Already a big area in Arlington County with all the infrastructure. Just being rebranded with Amazon moving in

Also Downtown Arlington doesn’t exist. There is five main areas in Arlington (huge) that all look like small cities with suburbs the National Cemetery and Pentagon in between. Those are Rosslyn (pictured as Downtown), Clarendon, Ballston, Shirlington and Crystal City/Pentagon city.

From the updates I've monitored, NONE of the predetermined targets for economic activity promised by Amazon has been reached and therefore none of the incentives promised by either the Commonwealth of Virginia or Alexandria have been given to Amazon. It hasn't cost the governments anything thus far, but it hasn't generated the economic growth promised either.

Northern Virginia is more like NorCal with techs and data centers…remote working is high demand and house prices increased after announcement and rents as well average rent $3k for dc condos. Theres metro which is improving and traffic. amazon will bring more homeless just like they done to Seattle.
