I usually avoid Amazon for ordering books. They package books very poorly. This weeks the original and replacement order both arrived damaged. I’m getting so sick and tired by this.

There really is no online vendor that does better though. Most are a lot worse in my experience. I still order from amazon for the prices and bc of the return policy. I just keep returning until I get an acceptable one. But still most of the time the books are just thrown loose in a box and arrive damaged and/or dirty.

That's strange, its usually the Amazon packages that arrive damaged more often and the 3rd party packages that arrive undamaged (and items packed better) most of the time. You just need to be more careful who you order from when it comes to 3rd party, always check their status.

I have literally had to replace an order 4 or 5 times now, I've lost count honestly. I've decided to just refund and return the items. Everytime I contacted Amaozon they said "you won't have to worry next time" and then next time came and it was damaged...

I’m sorry to hear about your damaged books . I’ve had trouble from Amazon in the past too . Lately I’ve found a good work around. If I order a trade paperback or deluxe edition. I’ll also order a t-shirt, or bags and boards. They act as extra padding in the box and haven’t had any damages when i do that.

I straight up gave up on ordering Omnibus from Amazon. It's heart breaking what they do to these books.

I've mostly had for experiences with Amazon 3rd party sellers but there was one trade I bought in Very Good or Like New condition that arrived with so much water damage that the pages were warped, discolored, and growing black mold spots. That was the only time I've ever had to return anything, but I feel like it's not too unreasonable to not want my books to be moldy.

I jut got a 55GBP book that was thrown into a flimsy cardboard envelope and it ended up getting trashed. It's sort of weird that booktube rarely talks about book damage. From my experience about half of books I order online arrive damaged due to poor warehousing and or packaging. Like a lot of of these books were clearly sent out already damaged. It's no wonder they keep doing it when the wider community doesn't care.

Same here spawn compendium keeps getting damaged everytime I order it I don't know why these clowns won't put any packaging inside of the shipping boxes to help

This shouldn't be a video about Amazon being dirty, but the other way around, meaning how well protected you are with Amazon's satisfaction guarantee. In this case you might end up without the books you wanted, but you won't lose a penny. Never buy from those sellers again and leave a bad review (2 and 3 stars, depending of how they reply) for others to he aware.

I have had hit an miss with amazon delivering omnibusses and even tpb. I had one omnibus delivered with additional piece of cardboard wrapped around it and the thing came in great, ive had others where they put very thin paper in a massive box and the thing bounced around all day on the truck and it was falling apart. by the time it got to my door. Ive had a tpb (new) come in a plastic mailer and when i pulled the book out it looked like it was bent into the shape of a U before being packaged.

I do believe it.I have been seeing this with regular comic books for awhile with messed up corners,wavey pages and spine tic's or whatever they call them.It's like a mixed bag.Now I never ordered comics or graphic novels from Amazon but I've been seeing this a long time otherwise.I don't see enough people talking about this.Especially with what there asking for comics now a days.It is the one thing that almost had me turned off from the hobby and sometimes rather just read digital.I just like the physical more,but physical has a lot of bad things that come with it like damaged books and running out of space.It is kinda like the Pop thing.Next thing I knew my house was looking like it was a Funko Pop lol.They were everywhere and taking up a few walls believe it or not lol,but yeah man that is unacceptable in my opinion with stuff coming damage like that.At least with my local comic shop if I want I can trade it out unless they all come like that.Other then that,he will discount another book.

I haven't purposefully avoided third party sellers for books, but when I browse for books I want they are usually the only option available when they are well above cover price, so I never purchase them.

Technically these are 3rd party seller on Amazon, how is this Amazon fault? I’ve bought from those seller before on Amazon and any issues were taken care of.

I personally ordered quite a bit of manga from Amazon and there shipping is awful 4 in 5 books are usually damaged I’ve had some with chunks out of the book bashed in spines damaged pages just the works

Don't know if you will see this, I've been buying Blu Rays and they have been coming damaged. I'm trying to look up videos on this and your like one of the only people that come up. Rest are from the sellers point of view.

Off the bat, I do believe you because Amazon is the worse for books. I'm on the anti-Amazon for books side. When I first got into getting collected hardcover issues, my Absolute Swamp Thing Vol1 and Snyder Batman Vol1 came with dingers on the edges. Instead of doing the back and forth Amazon replacement, I kept the books and vowed to not buy books from Amazon again. The books just come flying around a box with no protection at all.

My Snyder Batman omnibus came with some dings. Nothing crazy, but as a collector it would bother me. I asked if I could return it and they let me keep it and just sent out another one without a hassle. Me and customer service probably exchanged only a handful of words and that was it. A new one arrived the next day without any damage. Was quite impressed with amazon. I haven't bought from any 3rd party though.

LoL I ordered a music book, it had scratches, ordered a replacement, the corners are badly bent, pages AND cover... -_- it was even worse than the first one.

Ive gotten lucky with amazon a lot especially with omnis. Sometimes ill get a trade with very little damage like the bottom right corner being bent

I just ordered a book and it was like if somebody punched into it and raged very hard . I just wanted "Roblox Coding Made Easy 2nd Edition" and i got like i dont even know how to propperly describe it

Half-Price Book is a mixed bag. I just got three 6th Gun Deluxe still wrapped for half off. That said, I don't buy used on Amazon. You'll get books falling apart in "Good Condition" Good luck with the Black and White. Also, the irony is they use to be an online book seller...

@@comicsaredope This is where it gets weird. If it's damaged a second time, you can only get a refund. I had this issue with Batman Loeb and Sales omnibus. If it's through Amazon, unlimited times they can resend it. I will say, turning this into why you should buy from your sponsor is brilliant.

Amazon in my experience are really good or awful. I have plenty of damaged books off them over the years but don't want the hassle of sending them back. Ive also had some real stinkers from world of books, ordered death of ultimate Spider-Man prelude supposed to be like new and it was a library edition with 30 or so pages falling out.Terri ble customer service. Never use them again. My apologies to you BJ. It sucks.😞

Only those who read should pack books at Amazon. They act like the average customer cares about their “green” environmental virtue signaling to other large, hyper capitalist, global corporations, rather than having a nice, carefully packaged, undamaged product in a box (not the flimsy recycled packaging). I can do the recycling myself. Amazon probably does more environmental damage with all the returns.
